Mist - Single Player Mode

Brief introduction: (A story guide will be provided in single-player mode, but will not be explained at this time)

Type: Apocalyptic disaster, Shallow Layer Kelp.

Difficulty:?? (Events involving Kelvin-type lifeforms have a wide range of difficulty levels. The system will use limits to keep the difficulty within the maximum five-star range.)

Main requirements: None.

(Note: In the open-ended investigation mode, the story guide will not provide a completely fixed route, but will give individuals enough choices to induce thousands of different paths.)

By meeting certain requirements, completing a certain questline, or completely escaping the fog of mystery, one can escape the Destiny Event.

award:??

(The final reward will be determined based on the individual's choices, depth of investigation, and performance. Since the investigation and exploration route has not yet been selected, a reward benchmark cannot be provided at this time.)

"Single-player mode... is it a unique way of progressing the story?"

What the heck is this Destiny Event I chose? Apart from the type, the description, requirements, and rewards are all unknown.

It was completely different from any of the Destiny Event I had ever experienced.

When Han Dong was conscious, he was lying in the bright lobby of the villa...

Wearing loose and warm pajamas, he held a steaming cup of coffee in one hand and a remote control in the other... but the television just wouldn't turn on.

"The power is out?"

Just then, a system notification came through.

In single-player mode, the story guide is activated.

Introduction to the background story of "The Mist":

You are a freelance writer who has come to this beautiful, remote American town while researching.

One day, a sudden storm hit your town, causing many trees to fall, power supply facilities to be paralyzed, and signal base stations to be damaged.

The house you were temporarily renting was also destroyed.

The terrifying story shrouded in mist begins here... You will have 30 minutes of free time.

Han Dong immediately fell into deep thought.

"The plot guide... might impose some mandatory requirements in the upcoming actions."

I'm quite familiar with the movie "The Mist," since I watched it in a film appreciation course during my undergraduate studies and even wrote a report about it back then.

I remember the main plot of the movie was about a fog sweeping through a town, and the protagonist and some of the town's residents getting trapped in the town's supermarket, where they encountered monsters in the fog.

The absolute fear and helplessness of being trapped in the fog is very well created, and the human conflict in a desperate environment is also very good.

However, this movie also has some problems.

The origin of the Mist Monster was learned through a private's uncertain verbal account.

It seems that on the other side of the mountain, the military is conducting some kind of top-secret experiment, intending to open a "window" to another world, but in reality, it has opened a door connecting to other worlds.

Various indescribable and terrifying creatures emerged from the other side of the door.

But is this really the case? The film doesn't provide a clear answer.

Moreover, in the movie's ending...

The director deliberately wanted to create a sense of despair and helplessness, followed by an unexpected twist... How could such a terrifying life form be controlled by the military in such a short time?

In Han Dong's view, what is shown in the movie is only a small part of the truth, and the story is far from over.

Han Dong quickly reviewed the movie plot.

When preparing to release the two summoned creatures from his head to participate in the Destiny Event together.

"Hmm... what's going on?"

Han Dong could not sense the presence of the Contained Object... and could not even make contact with his brain.

Due to the unique nature of "The Mist," all abilities not originating from the Destiny Space are sealed off.

"Oh no!!"

The abilities derived from outside the city are a crucial asset for Han Dong.

If his abilities outside the city are blocked, Han Dong's abilities will be greatly reduced... He will be unable to use the Lesser Demon Eye, summon the two Contained Object, or fuse with the Duoze Crow.

Such a situation has never been encountered in previous Destiny Event.

However, as the investigation and exploration progress, some of your abilities will become available under specific conditions.

"Hmm? So many rules... Can you just tell me all of them at once?" Han Dong couldn't help but complain.

In the blink of an eye, five exquisite cards appeared on the coffee table, corresponding exactly to Han Dong's sealed 'outside-the-city ability'.

(1). Ability Card - [Magic Eye]

The card, edged in green crystal, depicts a vertical eye surrounded by strange array-like characters. The changing luster on the card's surface creates an eerie effect of a ' Living Eye '.

Consumes 3 points of Omen Points, can be used continuously for One Hour.

Effect: The Magic Eye helps you dispel illusions in the fog, increases your observation range, and allows you to see the weaknesses of monsters.

(2). Item Card - [Bone Feather Robe]

The card, with its white border, depicts an exquisite black feathered blouse.

Each use consumes 1 point of Omen Points (lasts 30 minutes), and consuming 5 points of Omen Points at once will permanently equip the item.

Effect: Provides all-attribute protection and additional movement ability.

(3). Ally Card - [Ravenman]

The card, with its black border, depicts a terrifying crow-man with two heads, crouching at the end of a tree branch.

Each summon costs 1 point of Omen Points and lasts for One Hour. (If an ally dies during the summoning period, the card will be permanently deactivated and cannot be summoned again.)

Note: The Arakkoa from Gayn Forest possess excellent reconnaissance abilities, but their combat capabilities are relatively weak.

(4). Summoning Card - [Evil Woman]

The exquisite card with red trim depicts a Woman in Red Robe standing in the corner of a room, the cleaver in her hand gleaming with silver light.

Type: Human

Each summon costs 1 point of Omen Points and lasts for One Hour. (Summoned creatures will immediately disappear when severely injured. The corresponding card will then enter a cooldown period and cannot be used again for a period of time.)

(5). Summoning Card - [Hell Monk]

Inside the lava-edged card is a drawing of a bald man being whipped in Affliction Depths of Hell.

Type: Demon

Each summon costs 1 point of Omen Points and lasts for One Hour. (Summoned creatures will immediately disappear when severely injured. The corresponding card will then enter a cooldown period and cannot be used again for a period of time.)

"Hmm... this is barely acceptable. As long as my abilities aren't completely sealed off, everything is fine. Otherwise, this Destiny Event might really be dangerous."

Han Dong immediately tried to use the abilities from the Destiny Space.

The abilities of plague, yellow sand, and some crows that do not involve pollution can all be used normally.

"By the way, how do I obtain the [Omen Points] required to use the cards?"

Just then, another mysterious prop appeared on the coffee table... a black candy bag.

Han Dong immediately thought that the candy bag might be related to the Omen Points.

The setting of the "Mist" dungeon took Afei a lot of time to write. It has more constraints and rules than the previous Destiny Event, and it is also an attempt. I hope the readers will like it.
