Newcomer's Handbook - Special Edition for the Whisper Knight Order

The Whisper Knight Order are a special reserve force among the Thirteen Knights. They rarely venture outside the city to conduct investigations or participate in Expeditionary Activity in small numbers. Their role is primarily to secretly provide information and protect dangerous secrets.

The headquarters of the Whisper Knight Order, also known as the [Secret Hall].

Based on their different work directions, the Whispering Knight can be Great Body divided into two categories:

The Secret Keeper and the Secret Unraveler

In the early stages of joining the group, Newcomer will only be required to handle some public or confidential documents.

After working for a period of time, the department head will assign Newcomer to different work directions based on the inferences they make when reviewing documents.

1. Secret Hall Space.

The Secret Hall is divided into [up and down] and [left and right] sections through spatial rearrangement.

The rules for [up and down] are relatively simple and will be omitted here.

The design and construction of the left and right sides adopt a Variable Function Cyclic Structure.

Every half hour or so, the space undergoes irregular changes and shifts, with reference numbers hidden in the paintings hanging in the passageway.

The numbers inside the painting symbolize the independent variable x.

The function structure for different times of day is as follows: f(x) = y (Please imagine the detailed function yourself; it changes every half hour, for a total of 48 functions).

Every month, a completely new functional expression will replace the old one.

Therefore, the room numbers within the Secret Hall will be represented by [L (floor) - Y (dependent variable) - room number].

When [Y=0], it is the Oldest One stairwell passage.

(Note: To ensure confidentiality, there are hidden variables and multiple function relationships, which are not explicitly shown in the manual. Newcomer riders are advised to deduce them on their own.)

2. Personnel levels and corresponding secret zones.

The five job permissions are as follows:

Level I (White). Can only access and process general public and confidential documents, usually Newcomer to the Knight Order.

Level II (Gray). Allowed to handle classified documents, and can indirectly access "foreign objects" or assist in deciphering simple textual information through slate rubbings. Usually a newly classified "Secret Keeper" or "Secret Unraveler".

Level III (Blue). Authorized to handle Top Secret documents with parliamentary permission.

At the same time, they can formally come into contact with "foreign objects" with lower risks and participate in the deciphering of "Abyssal Demon Tablet" as ordinary members of the team.

Level IV (Red): Can directly process documents of Top Secret and below.

Access to the Black-Zone is permitted.

To come into contact with, manage, and suppress "foreign objects" in unstable conditions, or to decipher "Abyssal Demon Tablet" that may induce instantaneous corruption.

Level V (Black). Enjoys unrestricted rights to act, and their actions are directly permitted by Parliament.

(The Whisper Knight Order will evaluate the performance of knights at different levels every month. Those Qualified One will be demoted or removed from the Whisper Knight Order Qualified One will remain at the same level, and those who perform exceptionally well will receive bonus points.)

When your score reaches the next level, your privileges will be automatically upgraded.

Note: Reaching Level III also requires a security review from Parliament.

There are many more points to note about the interior of the Secret Hall, as well as response measures in case of emergencies.

Detailed information about the "foreign object" and the "slate" is not mentioned in the "Newcomer's Handbook".

We need to wait until Han Dong has completed the groundwork and officially becomes a "Secret Keeper" or "Secret Unraveler" before we can learn more about it in detail.

To avoid affecting work efficiency and the flow of confidential information, Even Though the lowest-ranking Whispering Knight have their own private offices within the Secret Hall.

The key that Commander Hugo handed to Han Dong had a serial number written on it: [01-97-09].

First, use the [Up/Down] buttons to return to the first floor.

Han Dong then used the corresponding function given in the manual to derive the result for the current time period.

During the initial exploration of the left and right sides, a problem was discovered with the paintings within the passage, requiring the derivation of the independent variable's value based on the content of the paintings under specific circumstances.

At the same time, there are also issues that are not explained in the manual when making left or right selections.

This caused Han Dong to spend a long time at a certain point, taking an hour and a half to discover the 'left-right increasing' and related patterns of matrix changes.

Han Dong was quite good at solving such nonlinear mathematical problems in college.

In this way, Han Dong fully understood the "left and right" problem of the Secret Hall and was able to do what Commander Hugo required: arrive at any Secret Hall room indicated by any serial number within ten minutes.

Of course, during his exploration of the [left and right] area, Han Dong also discovered some walls marked with gray and blue lines at the entrance of the passageway.

Han Dong, as Newcomer, is not authorized to enter such a restricted area.

"Is this... my office?"

A small, enclosed room of ten square meters.

There is only one small window that offers a view of the "folded street" outside.

Miniature fireplaces are installed in the wall for heating.

Coffee beans and a homemade grinder are placed on the desk for unlimited use, ensuring work efficiency during office hours.

The kerosene lamp base can be clipped into the corner of an office desk, and it is equipped with a kerosene refill port inside, which can also provide unlimited light.

Aside from the desk and chairs, the only other furniture in the room was a bed... and what's more, there was a shocking iron sign hanging above the bed.

Before going to sleep, think about whether you have completed all your work for the day properly and diligently.

"It's definitely an exploitative management style, probably due to a shortage of personnel."

Knights who successfully graduate from the Knight Academy all have a heart set on going outside the city to fight against the otherworldly demons, and very few would choose to join such a Knight Order that is more of an administrative unit.

Furthermore, the overall rating of the [Whisper Knight Order] is the lowest among the Thirteen Knights.

This results in a small number of graduates joining each year, and some knights who simply can't handle it choose to leave the team during their internship.

As a result, the Knight Order were short-handed and had a lot of work piling up on their shoulders.

Only by adopting the high-intensity 996 work schedule can there be a certain possibility of completing the tasks assigned by the Holy City on time.

However... document processing is merely a superficial task for the Whisper Knight Order.

From what I understand so far, this place is more interesting than any other Knight Order.

With still plenty of energy, Han Dong placed the half-meter-thick stack of documents on his desk, lit the kerosene, and began his first task... No need for coffee; once Han Dong came into contact with these written documents, he would immediately fall into a unique reading mode.

The document I need to read is placed to my left.

In his right hand, he held a fountain pen and a notebook for secret messages.

For the first super-fast reading, I first marked the text and wrote down some rough guesses.

On the second reading, these suspicious points will be analyzed and reasoned in detail.

Han Dong must complete his current tasks within a day so that he can discuss the matter of "True Destiny" with Commander Hugo.
