Arc 17The Mutant Leader

Wang Bert defeated the Ancient Gods’ invasion, negotiated with Death, and arranged a new life for Galactus and Lina. He then entered Mutant Planet, built a company to help homeless mutants, and recruited Wolverine, Wade, and Psylocke for a mission against William Stryker.

  • Little Hela and the heroes broke free of Hela’s prison, but Hela opened the Soul Altar and let Chthon, Shuma-Gorath, Seth, Astros, and the Demon Gods enter the Main Universe.
  • Adam defeated the Great Serpent and fought Shuma-Gorath, while Wang Bert battled Chthon, destroyed his avatar, and joined with Galactus as Death intervened.
  • Wang Bert and Death simulated the consequences of Hela’s offensive, then agreed to restore Universe Balance within five hundred years instead of allowing mass slaughter.

Arc 19The Doomsday Church Crisis

Wang Bert built his mutant workforce and superhero organization while battling the Doomsday Church’s attack on his Recycling Plant. He saved Silver Fox from the past, but Cable could not reach the future, and Wang Bert began using Human Torch John’s bar fight for his own plans.

  • Wang Bert defeated Senator Cabo, announced that he was Iron Man, and arranged for mutant prisoners to serve a year at his Recycling Plant under his supervision.
  • Wang Bert fought Major Geli’s firebird with the X-Men, rescued Nightcrawler from Azazel, and recruited Warren Worthington as Angel while Human Torch John joined William’s firefighter program.
  • Greed and Wrath plotted to free the prisoners and destroy New York, while Wade and Wang Bert’s allies defended the Recycling Plant against their attack and Cable’s attempt to kill Fire Fist.

Wang Bert fought the Evil Believers’ nationwide attacks while building the Mutant Guardians and backing President Richard’s reelection. After defeating Azazel’s ritual and killing the traitorous Human Torch, he learned that Acton was planning to turn public opinion against Richard as Original Sin prepared to destroy God’s City.

  • Wang Bert directed the response to the Evil Believers’ massacres, sent the Mutant Guardians and military to protect civilians, and secured government support for expanding the Guardians and his Security Company.
  • Wang Bert helped President Richard enter the reelection race, while John joined Original Sin as Jealousy and secretly planned to seize control of the Mutant Brotherhood.
