From those records, she learned that besides the siblings Benson and Melissa, the Moretti Family included a Klein Moretti whose identity and whereabouts had been concealed. Later, when they "spoke openly" in the Hall of Truth, she learned that he was the World of the Tarot Club.
Thus, the moment she saw that scholarly face, with its refined and easygoing air, Audrey recognized him.
Of course, her composure as a Spectator kept her from showing anything unusual. Instead, as the three passed one another, her gaze lingered on the tall young lady beside Klein. From her steps, the swing of her arms, and the way she looked around curiously, Audrey determined that she was the Tarot Club's Empress, Angel Granger, who had entered the dream with her just now.
Why is Angel with Mr. World in the dream, walking arm in arm like a couple? Is this part of the dream, too? Or has she already replaced her dream self, playing that role to approach the dream's owner, the Death Consul?
Questions surfaced one after another in Audrey's mind.
But at present, she was only a spectator in the dream, with no true identity of her own, so she could not communicate with its inhabitants. Klein walking straight past her without so much as a glance made that clear.
