"I'm already here."
At Klein's reply, Roselle's expression changed again as he sat on the elevated throne. His eyes, seemingly shrouded in shadow, turned toward Klein, whose body had been formed from a paper figurine and appeared light and insubstantial. He spoke in Chinese:
"I knew I couldn't be the only transmigrator.
"Is she one too?"
Before Klein could speak, Angel answered in the same language:
"I am."
Her impeccably enunciated Chinese made Roselle laugh again, his hoarse voice echoing through the mausoleum.
"Good. That should make our communication simpler and more efficient," he said again, this time in Intisian. "I don't know how old you were before transmigrating, or how long you've spent in this era, but I've grown more accustomed to the language here..."
As he spoke, he looked at Angel again and continued:
"Thank you for letting Bernadette complete the seal just now. That helped her a great deal. Heh, I can tell you have a temporary contract with Anne. I hope you can spend more time with her after this. She looks as though she doesn't care much about anything, but deep down, she's very lonely..."
Angel nodded and replied:
"When I met Anne, she asked me to destroy that Ghost Ship in the Spirit World so she could escape the shackles of your orders and rest in peace.
"She only gave up on that idea after I told her Bernadette was still alive."
Roselle fell briefly silent. His towering figure hunched slightly, and a sigh escaped him:
"Perhaps some of the things I said in my early years influenced her... Apart from Bernadette, she's the one I've wronged the most."
His rather thin lips moved as though he wanted to ask more about Anne, but in the end, he dropped the subject and said instead:
