When Angel first saw those Beyonder characteristics separating out, she thought that Suah, the Abomination, had actually died in the Chaos Vortex that represented destruction, and that the portion of his mangled body rescued from it was merely the foundation that would allow him to become a spirit world creature like Reinette.
But as the characteristics fully took shape, becoming black, withered branches of varying sizes, vaguely humanoid puppets and fangs, miniature grayish-white brains, and other objects, Angel realized that this was only a part of Suah.
Specifically, there was one Sequence 2 Ancient Bane characteristic, one Sequence 4 Puppet characteristic, and one Beyonder characteristic each from Sequence 6 through Sequence 9.
The Chaos Vortex still pulverized part of the Abomination's body, reduced it to Beyonder characteristics, and stripped it from Suah... If the Mother Tree of Desire hadn't intervened in time to regain control of the Chained God, Suah probably wouldn't have been able to retain even his Sequence 1 characteristic after another few seconds. He would either have become an incomplete Saint or turned straight into an evil spirit...
As Angel pondered this, she reached out to gather the pure characteristics that had undergone the vortex's "purification" and stored them in the Mirror World, her connection to which had been restored after the Chained God's departure. Then she turned to Antigonus and said,
"It's a shame they still escaped."
Having sent his Sequence 1 self back into the Historical Void and returned to being a rather more subdued Miracle Invoker, Antigonus shook his head.
"Keeping a part of them was already a good result. I originally thought we would only manage to seriously injure one of them, and might even lose our avatars in the process."
