"You're Angel Granger, the 'Assassin' from the Tingen City squad?"

The man before her was around forty, with short pale-red hair. He stood over six feet tall, broad-shouldered and powerfully built, his shirt stretched tight across his body. Most strikingly, roughly a third of his square face was covered in burn scars, spanning from his chin across much of his left cheek. Pale scar tissue clumped together, making his already unremarkable features appear even more distorted.

After putting her luggage in her temporary lodging, Angel had followed Daly back to the hall to continue waiting for the other members to arrive.

Before setting out that morning, she had eaten a piece of bread as breakfast in Tingen City. By now, it had been digested even more thoroughly than the "Assassin" Potion, and her empty stomach twisted and cramped, voicing its displeasure.

But seeing that the other Nighthawks seemed entirely unconcerned about going hungry, she felt too embarrassed to suggest eating first. She could only pour herself a cup of tea from the kettle nearby and use the hot drink to settle her stomach.

Fortunately, not long afterward, this red-haired man returned to the Silver Bullet Detective Agency with another member Angel had met once before. After greeting Daly, he came over to Angel and began the conversation.

Angel's gaze swept over the red-haired man's scarred face before she immediately looked away, avoiding any offense. Hearing his question, she gave a slight nod and replied,

"Yes. Angel Granger, member of the Tingen City Nighthawks Squad, Sequence 9 Assassin, reporting for duty."

"Good. At least you're not another 'Sleepless' or 'Corpse Collector.'"

The red-haired man nodded and sat on the sofa opposite Angel. His muscular body made the sofa creak beneath him, making its sturdiness seem questionable.
