Leonard's Troubles

The mention of a mirror fragment immediately made Angel think of the black shards left behind when the "Mirror People" she had encountered recently died.

But I'm not a Mirror Person, and Mirror People don't come back to life after they die... She chuckled behind the full-length mirror in the Mirror World, yet she couldn't help leaning forward to await Leonard's explanation.

Klein had clearly noticed Angel's "invasion" of his dream. Playing along, he asked, "A mirror fragment?"

"That's right. I had too many questions, so today I went to Raphael Cemetery in Tingen City and dug... investigated their graves." Leonard hesitated. "Grave robbing" was hardly something to admit aloud. "Klein Moretti's coffin had been broken open from the inside and showed signs of being reburied. Angel Granger's was still nailed shut. There was no body inside, only an irregular mirror fragment about the size of a palm, cold to the touch. But before I could pick it up, it vanished."

"And that made you suspect she's an 'Unaging' Demoness? Let me guess. Pallez told you that?"

After hearing Leonard out, Klein set down his glass and asked the question with a soft laugh.

He had watched Angel advance step by step to her current Sequence 4, so he didn't suspect she had been "hiding her strength." But he was interested in her resurrection, and decided to prod Leonard a little.
