Watching Angel take a seat in the armchair beside the balcony, Klein smiled, half disappointed and half relieved. He followed her over and ventured a guess:

"Is this about my leaving Backlund for a while?"

Angel nodded and asked in return:

"It's not just for the arms deal, is it?"

When she returned from Trier and contacted Sander of the East Balam Veteran Officers Club, he had mentioned that "Dwayne Dantès" was also interested in joining them, paving the way for a shipment of arms to be smuggled into the Southern Continent.

At the time, Angel had assumed Klein was merely using the same method as her to investigate the Loen Military, but his enthusiasm suggested that he likely had more than that in mind.

"I mentioned last week that Amon has most likely arrived in Backlund. Although he's looking for an organization that worships the Fool, I may be another of his targets..." Klein answered softly, as though worried that Amon, the Angel of Time, was standing outside the door eavesdropping. "According to Orange Light Hilarion's warning, certain higher beings can perceive what makes me special until I become a demigod and possess divinity. I think he meant not only certain angels of the same pathway, but possibly those of adjacent pathways as well."

Adjacent pathways... Just as Demonesses and Hunters can switch to each other's pathway at Sequence 4, does the Seer pathway have something similar?

Several possible pathways flashed through Angel's mind, and she blurted out:

"You mean Amon's Marauder pathway?"

"Dwayne Dantès" had once used a conversation in Leonard's dream to frighten that Parasite, so it wasn't difficult to guess which pathway Amon belonged to.
