Alger, the Hanged Man, asked casually. He did not actually intend to sell any of the important items he carried, but that did not stop him from sounding out the new member and getting a sense of his financial resources for future cooperation.
His question is so blunt, though I suppose that's characteristic of the Sailor pathway... Leonard's expression froze briefly. Fortunately, the gray fog concealed it from everyone else.
"I don't know..." Seeing the others cast inscrutable looks at him, he immediately added, "Any type will do. Preferably something with strong offensive capabilities, mild negative effects, and the ability to be used discreetly. Something around the level of a Grade 2 Sealed Artifact. Um, I mean something at sequence 6 to sequence 5."
Only after speaking did he realize his mistake and immediately rephrase himself, but the meaningful looks directed his way already told him he had exposed his identity as an official Beyonder—or at least someone connected to them.
