Zarathus?
Upon hearing that name, Angel first thought of the angel family of the Solomon Empire in the Fourth Epoch. Only then did she notice the qualifications in Klein's description:
The leader of the Secret Order, the Seer angel trapped in Mist Town.
If their understanding of history was correct, that Sequence 1 had fallen in the subsequent war of the gods. The leader of the Secret Order in the Fifth Epoch was probably only his descendant, "Little Zarathus," who had inherited his Beyonder characteristics.
Even so, an archangel who had most likely advanced to Sequence 1 and successfully escaped Mist Town arriving in Backlund would put tremendous pressure on their subsequent operations.
After all, with true gods above them, the pontiffs and archbishops of the Three Great Churches were at most Sequence 2. With war about to break out, they would inevitably have to defend their churches' important locations and were unlikely to remain in Backlund. Without a true god descending, a Sequence 1 was the strongest being around.
"How can you be sure he's already arrived in Backlund? Even Amon's main body wouldn't dare enter this city lightly..."
Angel asked curiously.
"There are many reasons. For example, Arrodes discovered that his main body was no longer in its original location. There's also the attraction I exert on the Seer and Marauder pathways, and the unusual incidents during my recent operations against the Rose School with the Sanguine and the Temperance Faction... But the Red Angel evil spirit's arrival in Backlund was the trigger..."
Klein answered, involuntarily glancing at the chaotic streets outside the window.
"There aren't many people who know that I'm both Dwayne Dantès and Gehrman Sparrow and could also make contact with Zarathus. Medici, who worked with Zarathus in the Fourth Epoch, is one of them.
