Ywen led the Special Operations Team against several Dark Magic Cults, infiltrated the Paradise Cult, and destroyed its Tower of Heaven while rescuing the captive children. He brought Kagura to Fairy Tail, helped Rob join the Magic Council, and turned his attention to the escaped Brain.

• Ywen captured 1,134 members of the Dark Magic Cult in Labyrinth City, destroyed its underground maze, and led his team on a campaign against other cults.
• After eliminating dozens of cults, Ywen went undercover in Rosemary Village, where he befriended Kagura and Simon and let the Paradise Cult capture him so he could track its captives to the Tower of Heaven.
• Ywen found Simon imprisoned at Paradise, secretly coordinated with Rob, and broke the captives out before carrying a mountain across the water to make their escape bridge.
• Once the captives were safe, Ywen devastated the island with meteors, gravity, and beams of light, then captured the surviving cultists after learning Brain had escaped.
• Ywen reunited Kagura and Simon, accepted Simon into the Special Operations Team, and brought Kagura to Fairy Tail, where Makarov agreed to teach her magic.
• Rob accepted Byrne’s former seat on the Magic Council, while Ywen agreed to work with Ul to pursue Brain, who had taken five children.
• Rob and Yajima reminisced about Makarov and speculated that Makarov was preparing Ywen to become Fairy Tail’s Fourth Guild Master.

Ywen and Ul tracked down Brain and defeated the Oración Seis, bringing Brain and the five children to the Magic Council. Ywen became a Ten Wizard Saint, celebrated with Fairy Tail, and then faced Jose Porla and Phantom Lord when they challenged his new title.

• Laharl refused to keep the commander position permanently, then found a detailed report on Brain and sent it to Ywen after months of searching.
• Ywen and Ul pursued Brain to Hecate, where Ywen neutralized Brain’s village-wide explosive threat and Ul confronted him.
• Ywen captured Cobra, Racer, White Eye, Midnight, and Angel while Ul fought Brain, whose sealed personality awakened as Zero.
• Ywen separated Ul and Zero’s final spells, defeated Zero, and erased Brain’s personality before bringing Ul and the five children to the Magic Council.
• Ywen arranged for Jellal to care for the children and helped Simon and Wally reconnect with their siblings.
• The Magic Council voted Ywen into the Ten Wizard Saints, and Fairy Tail celebrated his promotion at its newly rebuilt guild hall.
• Jose Porla and Phantom Lord confronted Ywen over Jose’s lost title, but Ywen struck Jose and blasted the Phantom Lord wizards into the sky.

Ywen traveled to Guiltina to stop Kirinu, defeated him, and took the dragon as his disciple. After Georg Raizen attacked, Ywen struck back at the Dragon Eaters and gained new power from Alexion’s soul.

• Ywen joined Bruce’s reinforcements in Guiltina and learned that Kirinu had defeated the Magic Council’s forces.
• Ywen challenged Kirinu, revealed his Azure Dragon form, and defeated him in a sword duel before accepting him as a disciple.
• Ywen brought Kirinu back to the Magic Council, where the dragon apologized and Ywen’s feast was interrupted by Georg Raizen and the Dragon Eaters.
• Kirinu revealed that Selene was his mother, and Georg attacked after Ywen and Kirinu left the council.
• Ywen fought Georg, buying time for Kirinu to escape, then subdued Georg and reunited with Kirinu.
• Ywen and Kirinu attacked the Dragon Eaters’ base, where Ywen defeated its members and collected their medals.
• Ywen opened Kirin’s coffin and swallowed the resentful soul of Thunder Dragon King Alexion, raising his Azure Dragon Form and magic power to Level 11.

Ywen helped Layla gather the keys needed to open the Eclipse Gate, locating Grammi and retrieving Aquarius’s key while the Magic Council and former Oracion Seis searched for others. After returning to the Heartfilia estate and meeting Brandish, Ywen went back to Magnolia to check on Fairy Tail.

• Ywen returned to Magnolia with Kurnugi, who joined Fairy Tail, and introduced Reis to Makarov after releasing him from the bottle.
• Ywen warned Gildarts that the Hundred-Year Mission required defeating at least five foes as powerful as Aileen, then accepted Zeref’s request to help Layla open the Eclipse Gate.
• Ywen visited Layla and Jude, confirmed that Aquarius’s key was missing, and promised to find Grammi on the Western Continent.
• Ywen asked Yajima to gather the Zodiac keys through the Magic Council, then traveled to the Alvarez Empire and persuaded August to help locate Grammi.
• August found Grammi, who agreed to let Layla borrow Aquarius’s key, while Ywen accepted Brandish’s choice to remain with her family in Alvarez for now.
• Layla formed temporary contracts with four Zodiac Spirits, while Sorano and the former Oracion Seis found the Ophiuchus Key as another possible substitute.
• Ywen returned to the Heartfilia estate with Grammi and Brandish, where Layla welcomed Grammi home and invited Ywen into the family portrait.
• After spending time with the Heartfilias, Ywen arranged to meet Layla on July 7, X777, and flew back to Magnolia, where he saw Erza and Mirajane arguing.
