Background / History
Yin Kong transmigrated into the world of Detective Conan as a foreigner with a Genshin-based system. During his first months there, he trained his physical attributes and swordsmanship, turning an initially weak combat foundation into superhuman strength and endurance. He could see the monsters hidden from ordinary people, but their presence frightened him enough that he avoided travelling far from home when possible. 1 3 7
After intervening in a ramen-shop brawl and encountering supernatural threats, Yin Kong began accepting commissions through the Cunning Rabbit House. He solved murder cases, investigated Ono Yoko’s stalker, and gradually became involved in conflicts involving demons, the Abyss, and the Black Organization. His first direct clash with the Chameleon Witch nearly killed him; Zhongli’s arrival allowed him to survive, but Yin Kong became more cautious about exposing his abilities and drawing attention. 2 6 11 14
Under Zhongli’s mentorship, Yin Kong developed formal martial and cultivation training rather than relying only on system growth. As Cunning Rabbit House expanded, he recruited allies, established an Adventurer’s Guild branch, created a Statue of the Seven, and gained access to a limited Serenitea Pot territory around his apartment building. 24 36 49 56
Later, Yin Kong became entangled with the Sacred Jewel of Four Souls, the Abyss, and the Black Organization’s demonic artifacts. After Yelan took control of the organization’s infrastructure, he began managing it as a faction, eventually naming it the Phantom Troupe. 62 127 145
Appearance
Yin Kong presents himself as a young foreign man with a restrained, seemingly frail demeanor that sharply contrasts his actual physical strength. His facial muscles are notably stiff; attempts at a friendly smile can appear unsettling rather than reassuring. 1 2 7
- Initially perceived as a frail scholar or clerical worker despite his combat capability. 2 45
- Has an expressionless facade when confronting monsters. 1
- His fluent Japanese surprises those who learn he is a foreigner. 2
Personality
Yin Kong is generally calm, analytical, and professional. He treats commissions seriously, protects client confidentiality, and notices inconsistencies that others overlook, such as the stalker’s access to Ono Yoko’s apartment and the dangers of provoking Ikezawa Yuko. 7 8 11
He is kind and generous toward people who support him, readily helping with injuries, offering protective Imperial Coins, advancing Aoyama Nanami’s salary, and supplying Kagome and Inuyasha with weapons. 19 24 36 58
Despite his composure, Yin Kong can be pragmatic, mischievous, and manipulative. He uses psychological pressure against enemies, exploits Rum through the Book of Bewitching Hearts, and orchestrates elaborate tests for Conan and the Kudo family. 93 137 139 He also recognizes his own greed when valuable weapons or resources are involved. 59
