Meng Qi begins as a member of a Reincarnator team alongside Jiang Zhiwei, Zhang Yuanshan, and others. When the Six Paths introduces Shen Ye and Hua Yue as an overwhelming third party, Meng Qi’s team is defeated and captured by Hua Yue’s Underworld soldiers; Hua Yue ultimately spares them because her orders only concern retrieving Treasured Weapons 102 103.

During the collapse of the Demonic Tomb, Gu Xiaosang throws Meng Qi into the Nine Heavens Divine Thunder to seize its fortuitous opportunity, sealing his consciousness long enough for him to endure the ordeal 104. Later, he and his companions seek refuge with Shen Ye during a Journey to the West World Death Mission, establishing Shen Ye as a powerful benefactor and ally 122.

Meng Qi continues participating in Reincarnation missions, including the Eight Demons Chaos World operation, where Shen Ye’s presence convinces Zhao Heng that the mission is secure 133. He later works with Jiang Zhiwei and Celestial Venerable Lingbao to infiltrate True Martial Great Emperor’s hidden treasury, obtaining the fifth form of the Seven Swords of Heaven Interception, Dao Spreading Across the Universe 328.

After reaching the Dharma Body realm, Meng Qi escapes the Six Paths’ cycle of reincarnation, though he can still descend into certain worlds through temporal traces he left behind 360. He later becomes the temporary leader of the Jade Void lineage and defends Gu Xiaosang against the Luo Sect, refusing to surrender her despite Zhen Yuanzi’s demand 663 664.

When Heavenly Venerate of Primordial Beginning’s command threatens the Myriad Worlds, Meng Qi chooses to oppose his master’s will rather than permit the world’s annihilation 676.

Personality

Meng Qi is cautious and pragmatic. He treats powerful unknowns as potential threats, keeps defensive measures in mind when meeting Shen Ye, and actively seeks Chonghe’s protection before entering the Nine Heavens ruins 328 331.

He is also fiercely loyal to those he considers his own. He refuses to hand Gu Xiaosang over to the Luo Sect, supports the Human Race during the approaching Human–Demon conflict, and ultimately chooses the safety of the Myriad Worlds over obedience to his sect’s founder 663 665 676.

Despite his caution, Meng Qi can be playful and irreverent, particularly during his exchanges with Gu Xiaosang. He also retains a strong sense of justice, shown by his determination to hold Zhou Xian accountable for the massacre of an entire mortal city 343 572.
