Background / History

Ji Ning was originally from Earth before reincarnating into the Ji Clan Tribe of the Great Xia World. He cultivated the Nüwa Diagram from birth and reached Divine Sense at age eleven, but his early life remained rooted in the tribe and its survival. 301 629

At sixteen, Snow Dragon Mountain attacked the Ji Clan. Ji Ning chose to leave rather than die alongside the tribe, accepting the burden of preserving its future. A mysterious voice offered him power; after he accepted, Shen Ye awakened Ji Ning’s latent Mind Power. Ji Ning returned to Ox Horn Mountain, killed the Myriad Forms True Person Xu Li, and eliminated the invading cultivators. 301

Although Shen Ye initially refused to accept him as a disciple, Ji Ning resolved to cultivate the rare path of Mind Power after learning that it was inseparable from one’s Dao Heart. His independent comprehension of Mind Power later carried him through the Immortal Fate Convention, where Shen Ye formally accepted him as a disciple. 302 314 315

Shen Ye subsequently destroyed Ji Ning’s Violet Palace and Yuan Hai so that he could rebuild his cultivation foundation using a Chaos Immortal Qi Cultivation method. Ji Ning accepted the dangerous path toward a First-Grade Immortal, despite knowing that its Heavenly Immortal Tribulation would be comparable to a Heavenly God Tribulation. 316 317

Personality

Ji Ning is defined by responsibility toward those under his protection. At Ox Horn Mountain, he leaves his tribe only because remaining would extinguish its last hope; later, he repeatedly acts to protect the Three Realms despite the personal cost. 301 619

He is uncompromising toward those he considers cruel or corrupt. When a True God seeks to sacrifice billions of mortals to refine a sinful treasure, Ji Ning kills him and rejects association with a Three Realms faction that tolerates such acts. 467

Ji Ning is intensely loyal to Shen Ye. He credits his master with saving his life, trusts him even when Shen Ye destroys his cultivation foundation, and continues to regard Shen Ye as the one cultivator he can never surpass. 316 460 618
