Cen Xian'er couldn't believe that Lu Chengwen actually dared to hit her.
Lu Chengwen panted. "You want to die, is that it? Speak! Do you want to die or not!?"
Cen Xian'er pulled out a dagger and stabbed it straight at Lu Chengwen. "I'll kill you!"
Lu Chengwen roared, "Kill, kill, kill! I've been sick of living for ages!"
The dagger stopped at Lu Chengwen's throat, cutting only a tiny bit of skin. A bead of blood trickled down his neck.
Cen Xian'er was furious. "So now you're not afraid of dying?"
Lu Chengwen shoved the dagger away, grabbed Cen Xian'er, and dragged her toward the cave entrance.
For some reason, Cen Xian'er suddenly became very afraid of Lu Chengwen.
When Lu Chengwen had been afraid of death, she had felt that she could kill him at any moment, so she had always been domineering around him.
But now that Lu Chengwen wasn't afraid of death, she was the one who became afraid.
Most people would never understand that logic. Yet strangely enough, for Cen Xian'er, it made bizarre sense.
Cen Xian'er had no strength left and struggled in terror. "What are you doing? Let me go! Let go of me!"
Lu Chengwen roughly dragged her out of the cave and pointed at the green mountains and forest outside. "Look! Open your eyes and look!"
"The mountains stand majestic! The forest is lush! The bright moon hangs high! All is silent!"
"Tomorrow, the sky will still brighten. The world will keep running as it always does. People in the city will go to work, fight over parking spaces, and bring coffee to their bosses; people in the countryside will be busy farming and heading into town to buy fertilizer; men will work while figuring out which woman to ask out
