Silver-gray Metal Slimes rolled slowly around near the cave entrance like guards on patrol.
There were also semi-transparent Splitting Slimes that occasionally went "pop" as they split off smaller individuals, teaching a group of little slimes survival skills in the corners.
But the majority in the cavern were ordinary slime slimes.
Some bumped into one another with "squelch, squelch" sounds, exchanging pheromones as they chatted. Some stood in line, gnawing on a kind of moisture-rich moss growing along the cave walls. Others sprawled lazily across smooth rocks, basking in the crystal light.
The entire Slime Nest was neat and orderly, like a closed little society.
