The sky was red, and the earth was brown. They seemed to have formed from layer upon layer of congealed blood. The smell of gunpowder mingled with blood, a stench far from pleasant enough to make an ordinary person vomit up stomach acid.
Gray clouds drifted in from the crimson horizon, while highly corrosive acid rain tirelessly washed over the land, trying to scrub away that pungent stench.
Yet after being washed by the acid rain, the smell changed again, becoming even more unbearable.
The corpses on the ground easily withstood the corrosion of the strong acid rain. There were no wounds on their bodies; they had most likely suffered soul attacks.
