Selecting Han Wu

Xu Hai first appears at Imperial Capital Academy while evaluating a new group of reserve students. He challenges Han Wu in Arena No. 3 with one million Intelligent Human Retinue, initially treating the battle as punishment for the destruction of his Secret Realm. Han Wu's Retinue lineup, particularly Iron Cutting Sword Wind, leaves Xu Hai astonished at the strength possessed by a Divine Being below Demigod rank 89 90.

Rather than crushing Han Wu after the battle turns against him, Xu Hai stops the match and offers the surviving Intelligent Humans to Han Wu. In exchange, Han Wu agrees to become his disciple after entering Imperial Capital Academy; Xu Hai also assigns him the goals of reaching Perfect Demigod and seeking information on the Death Divine Position 91 92.

Xu Hai later spends 300 million Divine Power to restore Han Wu's Divine Realm Player privileges after Han Wu is cut off from his Divine Realm 141.

Supporting Han Wu's Growth

Xu Hai repeatedly secures resources and opportunities for Han Wu. He applies for a Top-Grade Ability Crystal before Han Wu's promotion to True God, personally confronting Sovereign Butcher when the crystal is withheld; Butcher severely injures Xu Hai during the dispute 307 308. After Han Wu's campaign in the Armor Civilization, Xu Hai rewards him with access to the Level Five and Level Six Holy Relics in his treasury 380.

As Han Wu advances, Xu Hai continues to act as both mentor and patron. He advises Han Wu to train in the Abyss Mine, helps arrange resources, and remains openly proud of his student's increasingly extraordinary achievements 458 515 547.

Ascension and the Wisdom Faction

Xu Hai ascends to God King at Imperial Capital Academy. The Divine Realm Civilization Will manifests as endless clouds and a descending divine light; Xu Hai's body expands to three hundred thousand meters before he refines the power over three days 565.

His Divine Title is Wisdom, a top-tier title associated with the Eyes of Wisdom, which can see through all things. After his ascension, he guides Han Wu toward World Level strength and expends most of his energy remodeling Han Wu's Tower of Death into a Heaven-Bestowed Divine Miracle 566 567.

When Slaughter God King Butcher threatens divine war, Xu Hai lacks a large independent power base. Han Wu helps establish the Wisdom Faction, bringing in students, allies, and a major investment from Wealth God King Zhao Zihong 776 777 790. Xu Hai eventually leads the Wisdom Faction to victory over Butcher despite widespread expectations that the Slaughter Divine Authority would prevail 830 832.

Loss and Restoration of Wisdom

During later conflicts, Han Wu plunders Xu Hai's Wisdom Divine Authority, leaving Xu Hai severely weakened and unable to maintain his former God King power. Though despondent, Xu Hai accepts the loss as long as he can continue teaching talented students for the Divine Realm Civilization 1315 1316.

Han Wu refuses to leave his teacher in that state. He provides a Secret Treasure capable of restoring Xu Hai's Divine Authority and offers Space, Wisdom, Energy, and Creation Divine Authorities. Xu Hai chooses Wisdom, preferring the field he understands best and intending to continue aiding Han Wu and the civilization through it 1316.

Although he is a powerful God King, Xu Hai is aware that direct combat is not his greatest strength. He relies on analysis, preparation, skill evolution, and careful instruction rather than reckless confrontation 777 820 836.

His attachment to Han Wu can override his usual restraint. When Qin Shuang's family is kidnapped in an apparent attempt to lure Han Wu out, Xu Hai is enraged enough to consider beginning another divine war 873.
