The leading lizardfolk lowered his head in a bow and replied in nearly flawless Imperial language, "We need weapons and armor from your Empire to protect our people."
Ang nodded slightly but did not agree at once. "Most of the weapons we have here are made of refined steel, but they are not produced by military arsenals. They are ordinary weapons forged by noble workshops."
"As for armor—it is all made for human builds. Your people may not be able to wear it properly."
The leading lizardfolk hesitated for a moment upon hearing this.
After seemingly weighing the matter inwardly, he respectfully said, "My Lord Count, may I select a set of armor and several weapons to bring back for my masters to determine whether they are suitable?"
Ang considered it briefly, then nodded. "You may. But since you are the ones requesting this trade, you will bear the relevant taxes yourselves. I can only sell them at market price and will not offer any additional discounts."
