I Support You Becoming Hokage

A good night's sleep, after so long.

Uchiha Chen had gone to bed early last night.

So he woke up early this morning. He closed his eyes in bed, only to find that he could not fall asleep no matter what.

Without the insane training at the Training Ground or Tsunade's surprise attacks at all hours of the day and night, his life suddenly felt a little unfamiliar.

He could only climb out of his soft bed and slowly put on his Uchiha Windbreaker.

It was still early outside. Under the sunlight, the dew slowly turned into a thin mist. Mikoto had not come running over to see him early this morning either.

She was probably exhausted from the past week as well.

So Uchiha Chen made himself some breakfast. Even though his cooking was terrible, he had to lick the plate clean.

After eating, Uchiha Chen slowly left the Clan Grounds and walked to school.

"Hey, morning, Minato." Uchiha Chen ran into Minato as he entered through the school gates.

"Morning, Chen. You're here this early again?" Minato was no longer surprised by it.

"What's wrong, Minato? Why do you look so listless?"

Uchiha Chen asked with some concern. Little Sun rarely got depressed.

"Well, because I spent yesterday at the Police Force," Minato answered weakly.

"Huh? Why did they arrest you and take you to the Police Force?" Uchiha Chen was puzzled.

Those Uchiha from the Police Force were just arresting people at random? They did not even ask around before laying a hand on my brother.

Uchiha Chen looked around, but in the end, he did not dare say that out loud.

"It was all Teacher Jiraiya's fault. He said gathering material could train my stealth skills and my ability to observe information in my surroundings. So that day, I followed Teacher Jiraiya to gather material. Then someone found us. Teacher Jiraiya used Body Flicker and ran away, while I got caught by the Police Force..."

Uchiha Chen nodded. So this was the importance of speed. Was this incident what set Minato down the irreversible path of speed, eventually turning him into the Fastest Shinobi in the World? Jiraiya truly was an educational genius.

"Your experiences this week could practically be written into a horror adventure novel." Uchiha Chen laughed gleefully at his misfortune.

"So how did they let you out? Peeping isn't exactly a minor crime," Uchiha Chen asked.

"Well... whenever someone asked me something, I just grinned like an idiot." Minato put on an unfathomable expression.

"Oh, so you acted cute. Ah, no, you played dumb."

Uchiha Chen nodded. After all, no one could get anything out of a six-year-old fool. That was probably why they had let Minato go.

"Hahaha..." Minato awkwardly scratched his head.

Uchiha Chen and Minato entered the classroom together and took their seats.

Soon, the classroom filled with students.

"Mikoto, good morning," Uchiha Chen greeted her.

"Morning, Chen." Mikoto seemed to be in a hurry.

"Why are you so late today?" Uchiha Chen asked.

"Well, the training this past week was too exhausting, so I woke up a little late this morning."

Soon, it was almost time for class.

But Uchiha Chen noticed that Nawaki's seat was still empty. Nawaki usually arrived rather early.

"By the way, Minato, where's Nawaki? Hasn't he been training with Lord Jiraiya lately? He should have been with you, right? Why haven't I seen him?" Uchiha Chen asked.

"Well, he was studying Lord Jiraiya's comic books that day, then Lady Tsunade caught him and dragged him back. The last thing I heard was Lady Tsunade saying something about selling him off as a slave to the Land of Earth."

"Oh. Looks like we'll have to go to the Land of Earth to find him in the future. I hope he's doing well." Uchiha Chen nodded.

Soon, it was time for the morning lesson, and Teacher Nishimura stood at the podium.

"Well, due to certain special circumstances, our class will be receiving a transfer student," Teacher Nishimura told the students, including Uchiha Chen.

"Since she is from another village, everyone should get along with her, okay?"

"Yes~!" the children answered Teacher Nishimura energetically.

"Will it be a girl?"

"It would be great if it were a boy as handsome as Uchiha Chen." The children below quickly began discussing it.

"Classmate Kushina, come in quickly."

"Her name sounds pretty cute. Aren't you curious, Chen?" Mikoto quietly asked Uchiha Chen beside her.

"Mm. Her name is cute, and she's pretty cute too." Uchiha Chen smiled.

"You know her, Chen?" Minato asked.

Uchiha Chen was about to nod, but when he suddenly saw Mikoto's kindly smile, he wisely kept his mouth shut.

Kushina wore a white ninja outfit today, with black tube socks on her lower body. Her long red hair flowed down her back.

Kushina walked into the classroom nervously. She looked around the room, spotted Uchiha Chen sitting at his desk, and smiled.

The classroom immediately erupted into discussion.

"Wow, she's so cute."

"Look at that red hair. It's so strange."

"Really, it's my first time seeing it."

The classroom instantly became noisy.

Kushina's face suddenly turned bright red, and she began to stumble over her words.

"My name is Uzumaki Kushina! I'm going to become the first female Hokage in the future!"

Whenever Kushina got nervous, she developed a strange verbal tic. In a rush of panic, she somehow blurted out that she wanted to become a female Hokage.

"..."

The classroom exploded as if a pot had boiled over.

"An outsider wants to become Hokage?"

"Exactly, that's hilarious. Then I can do it too."

"A little outsider brat wants to become the greatest person in our village?"

"Yeah, yeah."

The classroom immediately broke into mockery.

Kushina's face grew redder and redder, like a tomato. She suddenly fell silent.

Oh no, this had gone badly. Uchiha Chen covered his face. Kushina had probably wanted everyone's approval so she could fit in here.

But these kids clearly rejected the idea of someone from another village becoming Hokage.

"Teacher, I support Classmate Kushina becoming the Fourth Hokage of Konoha Hidden Village. When the Hokage election comes around, I will firmly cast my own vote for her."

Uchiha Chen could only raise one hand and say this to Teacher Nishimura, who stood beside the podium looking troubled over why the classroom atmosphere had suddenly become so chaotic.

Simply put, Uchiha Chen's move drew the entire classroom's attention onto himself.

Sure enough, the entire classroom fell silent.

Everyone's gaze focused on Uchiha Chen.

"If Chen supports her, then I'll vote for her too."

The girls immediately switched sides.

"..."

"Eh?" Clearly, Minato was shocked too.

"What's going on, Chen? You didn't say that before. At Ichiraku Ramen Shop, you clearly promised to give your vote to me."

"I even paid for the ramen in the end. Now that you've eaten, you're denying it? Has our little boat of friendship capsized just like that? You guy who values women over friends."

Uchiha Chen chose to ignore Minato's suggestive gaze.

Mikoto was also staring at Uchiha Chen now.

Fortunately, most of the class's attention had shifted to Uchiha Chen. Their hostility toward Uzumaki Kushina beside the podium temporarily vanished as well.

"These little brats..." The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, standing at the door, lightly adjusted his Hokage Hat. He glanced again at Uzumaki Kushina, who stood on the podium looking somewhat at a loss, then chuckled and slowly walked away.
