Chen and Konoha helped Hanzō defeat Sunagakure, captured Kikyō Castle, and ended the war with the Land of Wind. As Konoha turned back to Iwagakure, Chen prepared Shukaku for battle and unleashed him against Roshi and Bunga’s forces.

• Ming learned that Danzo wanted Akatsuki drawn into a staged clash with Sunagakure, while Akatsuki heard that Hanzō had returned to the Land of Rain.
• Yahiko and Akatsuki confronted Rasa’s forces, and Nagato stopped Rasa’s Gold Dust before Yahiko ordered a retreat and committed Akatsuki to protecting the Land of Rain.
• Chen, Hanzō, and the Third Hokage fought Sunagakure’s two thousand shinobi, and Chen’s Susanoo devastated the battlefield before the Third Kazekage arrived to cover the retreat.
• Orochimaru led Konoha’s assault on Kikyō Castle, and the Third Kazekage retreated as Konoha captured the castle and forced Sunagakure to seek peace.
• Konoha and Sunagakure signed a peace agreement, while Kushina gained permission to train for deployment and Orochimaru agreed to research the First Hokage’s cells for Danzo.
• Orochimaru gave Chen Kagami’s Mangekyo Sharingan, and Chen used his own Mangekyo Genjutsu in an attempt to control Shukaku.
• Chen, Sakumo, Orochimaru, and Rokuun planned a decisive attack against Roshi and Bunga, then Chen summoned Shukaku into the Iwagakure ranks and landed on his head.

Chen captured Roshi and helped Konoha drive Iwagakure back before using the Flying Thunder God Technique to move troops and supplies. The armies then clashed in the Land of Earth, where the Third Raikage joined Iwagakure and began fighting Chen.

• Chen defeated Roshi by sealing the Four-Tails, then handed the unconscious Jinchuriki to Konoha’s Sealing Squad as Nawaki killed Gari.
• Tsunade and Kushina discussed Konoha’s need to take Kannabi Bridge, while Minato learned the Flying Thunder God Technique and Danzo learned of his progress.
• Shikaku planned an attack on Iwagakure’s supply route, and Chen used the Flying Thunder God Technique to transport Konoha’s troops past the enemy scouts.
• Bunga’s forces were overwhelmed by Nawaki’s Konoha troops, and Ōnoki ordered Iwagakure to withdraw from Kannabi Bridge as Kitsuchi prepared for a decisive battle.
• Chen transported supplies and Kushina to the Land of Earth, while Han and five hundred Iwa-nin reinforced Kitsuchi and Tsunade and Shinnosuke joined Konoha’s army.
• Konoha’s six thousand ninja and Iwagakure’s eight thousand ninja charged into battle, where Chen summoned Shukaku and fought Ōnoki’s Stone Golem.
• The Third Raikage arrived to support Ōnoki, and Chen used the Flying Thunder God Technique to evade his attacks and counter with Rasengan and Chidori.
• The Third Raikage increased his speed with Black Lightning and trapped Chen in Lightning Release: Lightning Bomb, but Chen escaped and recognized that his opponent had anticipated his tactics.

Chen defeated the Third Raikage, helped end the war with Hidden Stone, and began reshaping the Uchiha Clan’s place in Konoha. A mission to Rōran brought him face-to-face with his future children before the story returned to the nearing end of the war and Sasori’s attack on the Third Kazekage.

• Chen killed the Third Raikage with Dust Release, and Konoha’s victory drove Iwagakure to surrender.
• A became the Fourth Raikage and vowed revenge, while Sarutobi Hiruzen reorganized Konoha’s forces and confronted Homura Mitokado over Danzo’s schemes.
• Chen and Sarutobi Hiruzen agreed to move the Uchiha beyond the Police Force, open the Clan Grounds to the village, and mix Uchiha ninja into village teams and training.
• Chen drew the Six Paths Fan at his succession ceremony, revealed his Mangekyo Sharingan, and led the Uchiha Ninja in their cry of “Uchiha!”
• Chen trained Kakashi and traveled with Kushina and Kakashi to Rōran, where Rin arrived from the future and reunited with her parents.
• Chen exposed Anrokuzan and helped Sara free Rōran’s citizens, then sealed the Dragon Vein as Naruto and Rin returned to the future.
• Chen returned to Konoha and was sent back to war, while Sasori poisoned the Third Kazekage and confronted him with a swarm of Puppets.

Chen’s team advanced toward the Chunin Exams as Fugaku’s schemes helped Nagato seize Amegakure after Yahiko’s death. The exams began in Konoha, where Chen identified the Seven-Tails’ Jinchuriki and watched the teams enter the Forest of Death.

• Sasori defeated the Third Kazekage, and Ebizo confronted him before letting him leave the village with the sealed corpse.
• Fugaku recruited no Sasori, but learned of Nagato’s Rinnegan and directed White Zetsu to alert Danzo.
• Chiyo supported Rasa’s peace efforts, and Chen discussed unifying the Five Great Nations with Orochimaru before being assigned Asuma and Might Guy as students.
• Chen’s Team One trained and faced the Lizard Summoning Beast, which allowed Chen and Asuma to sign its contract.
• Danzo joined forces with Hanzō to ambush Akatsuki, but Yahiko died and Nagato unleashed the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
• Fugaku guided Nagato into using the Rinnegan, and Nagato killed Hanzō and took control of Amegakure.
• Chen and Orochimaru planned to expose Danzo’s experiments, while Konoha prepared for the Chunin Exams and Chen made a deal with Kisame over Samehada.
• The Chunin Exams began, and Chen and Himeji identified Yui as Hidden Waterfall Village’s Jinchuriki before the teams entered the Forest of Death.
