Uchiha Chen helped Konoha defeat Sunagakure by infiltrating its forces, destroying Cloud Peak Canyon’s defenders, and fighting Rasa and his allies. As Sunagakure regrouped for the war, its leaders reshuffled command while Sasori rejected succession and set his own targets.

• Sarutobi Hiruzen attended the Five Kage Summit, where Yagura demanded Uchiha Chen and the Third Kazekage’s demands led the Kage to declare war on Konoha.
• Sarutobi Hiruzen sent Chen and Jiraiya to separate fronts, and Chen escorted intelligence shinobi before joining the Land of Wind campaign.
• Chen and Mikoto infiltrated Sunagakure’s forces disguised as Senra, then Chen detonated explosive tags and helped wipe out the defenders of Cloud Peak Canyon.
• Chen joined Konoha’s assault on Sunagakure’s stronghold and fought Rasa, Pakura, and Karura, leaving Rasa injured as Konoha won the six-day war.
• Orochimaru studied Chen’s Sage Mode and pursued research into Sharingan and Sage Chakra while using Chen’s battlefield reputation to advance his influence.
• The Third Kazekage freed Garaga to aid Sunagakure and persuaded the elders to unite, demote Rasa, and send most of the village’s shinobi to the front.
• Sasori refused Chiyo’s offer to become Fourth Kazekage, named Konoha’s White Fang, the Third Kazekage, and Konoha Lightning as targets, and vowed to pursue eternity.

Chen captured Shukaku, returned to Konoha, and then led its forces against Kirigakure, defeating a major attack on the Land of Waves front. After taking command, he prepared with Sakumo to strike Kirigakure’s sea routes and coastal supply bases.

• Chen captured Shukaku alive, returned to camp, and agreed to look after Kakashi if Sakumo died in battle.
• Chen and Sakumo returned to Konoha, where the Third Hokage assigned them to command the front against Kirigakure.
• Chen met Tsunade, who gave him a front-line report before returning to the Land of Wind.
• Fugaku learned that Chen and Sakumo were approaching the Land of Water, while Yagura ordered Terumi Sora to attack Konoha’s base at dawn.
• Chen reached Himeji and Hizashi during the surprise attack, killed over a hundred Kirigakure shinobi with a combined technique, and helped drive the enemy back.
• Chen defeated Suikazan Fuguki, took Samehada, and watched as the remaining Kirigakure forces retreated from the coast.
• Chen took command from Rokuun and set up sensory barriers across the Land of Waves while investigating a suspected spy.
• Sakumo chose to attack the Land of Water and ordered teams to mine sea routes and target coastal supply strongholds in an operation Chen named the Hundred Ninja War.

Chen rescued Himeji from the ambush, then defied Konoha’s orders to invade the Hidden Mist Village and recover her Byakugan. He devastated Kirigakure, escaped to Ryūchi Cave, and left the village weakened as Fugaku maneuvered Yagura toward a ceasefire.

• Chen defeated Yagura after battling the Three-Tails, then rescued Himeji from White Zetsu’s trap and carried her through the Valley’s explosions.
• Fugaku ordered the Three-Tails sealed inside Yagura and used Himeji’s stolen Byakugan to strain relations between Kirigakure and Konoha.
• After Sakumo assigned Chen to retrieve the Byakugan, Chen explained his Mangekyo Sharingan and plans to Mikoto, then set out for the Hidden Mist Village.
• Chen attacked Kirigakure with Shadow Clones and Manda, fought Hozuki Eigetsu, and killed more than a hundred Mist Ninja with Sage Art: Inorganic Reanimation.
• Chen pursued the Six-Tails Jinchuriki, defeated Mei Terumi and Aduo, and wounded Saiken before sealing one of its tails.
• Chen recovered Himeji’s Byakugan by killing Fuji and Ao, then used Magatsu-Kami against the Mist Ninja and beheaded Hozuki Takigetsu before escaping to Ryūchi Cave.
• Hiruzen defended Konoha’s war effort as Ōnoki and the Third Kazekage recalled forces, while Danzo resolved to transplant a Mangekyo Sharingan.
• Fugaku controlled Yagura into seeking peace while planning to seal the Three-Tails inside him, and Mei Terumi mourned the dead beside the injured Aduo.

Chen and Konoha confronted Hanzō as the Land of Rain became a new front in the Third Great Ninja War. Chen defeated and captured Hanzō, then secured his alliance with Konoha, while Danzo’s plans for Akatsuki continued through Ming.

• Mei Terumi, Zabuza, and Kisame discussed their aims amid the Bloody Mist policies, while Chen became renowned as Konoha Lightning and Konoha prepared to move to the Land of Rain.
• Hanzō decided to join the war, and Yahiko went to Hidden Rain Village to persuade him to stop fighting and help restore peace in the Land of Rain.
• Chen and Sakumo planned to drive the Ame Shinobi from the Land of Fire, and Chen sent Shibi, Inuzuka Gaku, and Hizashi to track Hanzō.
• Hanzō’s poison and explosive attacks wounded Hizashi and incapacitated Shibi and Inuzuka Gaku, but Chen arrived and fought Hanzō, defeating his Salamander and forcing him to flee.
• Chen caught Hanzō, sealed his Chakra, and took him prisoner, choosing to keep him alive to stabilize the Land of Rain and support Konoha’s plans.
• Chen told Hanzō that rival groups were fighting for control of the Land of Rain and demanded an alliance with Konoha, and Hanzō agreed to the alliance and a Curse Mark if he could meet the Third Hokage.
• Ming reported to Jia that Akatsuki had rejected Danzo’s supplies, and Jia ordered Ming to stop Chen and Sakumo from taking Konoha’s troops into the Land of Earth.
