Once infected by the Honkai, one either dies or turns into Honkai fodder—Mortals. A select few become Quasi-Herrschers.

"Protect the people." Kiana remembered her father telling her about the Kaslana family's responsibility. "But why does it hurt so much to protect them?"

Kiana couldn't understand. She hadn't expected anything to be so unbearable besides loneliness.

Otto said, slinging an arm around Kiana's shoulders.

"Let's go home first."

Kiana clutched the sachet in her hand. Otto led Kiana back, feeling that Kiana needed some quiet.

The two quickly returned to the hotel. During the journey, Otto and Kiana didn't speak, letting Otto hold her cold little hand.

He forcefully pulled off Kiana's outer layer. Kiana watched Otto's actions with somewhat vacant eyes.

Is he... going to have his way with me here?
