Background and History

A gifted student, MEI published a paper while still in high school that attracted Fire Moth's attention. Mobius later guided her into Honkai research. MEI rose rapidly within Fire Moth, where her work included Stigmata, Divine Keys, the Moonlight Throne and plans intended to preserve humanity beyond the Previous Era 70 203 298 606.

As the war against Honkai worsened, MEI took on greater responsibility. She rose to leadership after much of Fire Moth's upper echelon was lost. Before the final battle, Honkai erosion caused her to collapse; Otto took her away and carried out plans she had prepared 625 630 680.

MEI awakened in the Current Era intending to wage a revenge war against Honkai. Unfamiliar with the era and possessing the body of an ordinary person, she surrendered when Otto detained her. He kept her beneath his room and later brought Bronya to her as a student. MEI agreed to teach Bronya while looking for a chance to escape 207 209 229.

After learning more about Otto's connection to Elysia, MEI reconciled with him and agreed to join his fight against the Will of Honkai. She resumed research at Schicksal Headquarters, where she found her schedule far less demanding than it had been in the Previous Era 680 821 822.

Appearance

MEI closely resembles Raiden Mei, but has a more mature appearance 680 687.

Personality

MEI is pragmatic under pressure. She surrendered to Otto because escape was unrealistic and survival would give her a chance to understand the Current Era. She places little value on pride when it conflicts with staying alive 209.

She takes pride in her knowledge and remains driven to research, even when her circumstances become more comfortable. Although she initially hoped to use Bronya to escape, she intended to teach her properly 229 298 821.
