Background / History
In his previous life, Wang Ye never awakened supernatural abilities, yet became a member of an A-Class Hunt Squad through calmness, intelligence, and combat training. Those qualities could not save him from high-level supernatural incidents, and his second chance at life begins with his determination to avoid that fate. 1
Wang Ye became connected to the mysterious Post Office, which offered deliveries, rewards, and awakenings at severe personal cost. He accepted its blood-red gloves and awakened three abilities in his hands, finally gaining direct means to confront ghosts rather than relying solely on training and preparation. 17
His early work with the Heavenly Group placed him under Zhang Ziliang's supervision and assigned him to work alongside Zhou Han. After demonstrating his abilities against Yang Chen, he obtained investment, advanced equipment, and a leadership position within the Logistics Department. 11 26
Over time, Wang Ye collected iron fragments linked to an unknown past. The final pieces were delivered by A Yao, completing a chest token marked with a character resembling Gui (“rule” or “order”); the token then melted into his heart. 290 1037
Meng Po later revealed that Lu Qing had cleared Wang Ye's meridians, reshaped his mental power, and altered parts of his memories, contributing to his unusually rapid growth and intelligence. She also stated that Wang Ye was not a reincarnated great being, but had been used as a tool after his potential was improved. 981 982
Appearance
Wang Ye's ordinary appearance is that of a slender, handsome young man. He frequently changes his appearance, clothing, aura, and apparent affiliation to obscure his intentions or infiltrate hostile forces. 201 480 951
- Has appeared bald and dressed in a bright kasaya while operating under a Buddhist identity. 354
- Uses human-skin props and masks to imitate other people or create decoys. 483 539
- Completed iron token was embedded in his chest before melting into his heart. 1037
- Often carries the Ghost Messenger Blade and a cloth bag containing supernatural items. 480 596
Personality
Wang Ye is observant, calculating, and highly practical. Even as an ordinary person, he relied on calmness and intelligence; after awakening, he turned those traits toward evaluating threats, exploiting opportunities, and negotiating for resources. 1 205 346
Survival is a central motive for him. He is willing to appear cold, ruthless, or arrogant when it serves a purpose, and he treats information, supernatural items, and public reputation as tools. He is also cautious enough to use decoys rather than gamble his real body unnecessarily. 248 483 708
Despite his self-interest, Wang Ye does not abandon those he considers his own. He confronted the Jade Pool's illusion for using Lu Wu, declaring that he would protect his friends and the Human Race even at great personal risk. 809
His breakthrough into the Bodhisattva Realm clarified his personal conviction: rather than placing faith in Spirit Mountain, the Heavenly Court, or another external force, he believes in himself. 579
