"Ahhh!"

The policewoman was so startled by Downton that she nearly jumped out of her skin, only staying grounded because Downton pressed down on her shoulders.

However, her flailing knocked Downton's fried chicken to the ground.

Watching the nuggets hit the pavement, Downton rolled his eyes before reaching out toward the policewoman's hand.

"You knocked over my fried chicken, so taking a soda to make up for it shouldn't be a problem, right?"

As he spoke, Downton snatched the soda and took a refreshing gulp.

"Haa!"

Exhaling a cloud of carbon dioxide, Downton tossed the remainder of the drink away with satisfaction.

He waved at Zsasz, who was still standing there in a state of excitement, over the heads of the surrounding police officers.

"Hey, Zsasz, does killing me once really get you off that much?

Looking at it that way, you're quite sensitive, aren't you? Hahahaha!"

Amidst his loud laughter, Downton walked over to Gordon and draped an arm over his shoulder.

Across from them, Zsasz froze for a moment before his face twisted into a snarl.

"Damn it!"

Seeing Downton reappear so quickly, Zsasz's good mood vanished instantly.

"I thought I could get you to be quiet for a while, but you really are a monster. I shouldn't have bothered with you in the first place!"

With that, Zsasz spat on the ground.

He then pointed his gun at Downton and said, "Although I hate it, you've fulfilled your promise, so you don't owe me anything anymore. Screw it, go play by yourself, you monster. I still have to wipe out the Dimitrov Family."

"Oh, calling me a monster already? Trying to alienate me, are you? Whatever, I don't care. Go do your thing."

Downton waved his hand dismissively, letting Zsasz head back into the laundry room to continue hunting down the remaining members of the Dimitrov Family.

As Zsasz left, Downton released Gordon's shoulder and said with a grin, "I've settled my score with the Dimitrov Family; now it's your turn."

Saying this, Downton pressed his hands together and held them out toward Gordon.

Seeing Downton actually strike a pose to surrender, Gordon was stunned for a second before his face lit up with joy!

"You... are you turning yourself in? That's the right thing to do! Downton, now that you've had your revenge, you should follow the law. That's the only way to live with a clear consci—"

"Damn it!"

Listening to Gordon, Downton cursed loudly while thrusting his hands closer to him.

"I've said so much to you, and it all went in one ear and out the other! To hell with turning myself in, and to hell with your 'clear conscience'—I'm telling you to try and arrest me again!"

"Huh?"

Hearing this, Gordon was still bewildered, but he instinctively pulled out his handcuffs and deftly locked them around Downton's wrists.

Just as Gordon moved to secure him further, Downton violently broke free from his grip, then held his handcuffed hands high in the air, showing them off to the police across the street.

"Gentlemen, do you want to see a magic trick?"

Downton shook his cuffed hands as if he were standing on a stage.

"If you do, then watch closely—it's time to witness a miracle!"

As his voice fell, Downton dropped his hands, and his entire body vanished into thin air once more.

Staring at the cluster of flames Downton had left behind, Bartel nodded in understanding from afar, started his car, and sped off, following the signal from the tracker.

On the street, the police officers looked at one another before crowding around Gordon.

Having witnessed Downton vanish with such ease again, Gordon's expression was grim.

How on earth was he supposed to deal with a criminal like Downton?

Just thinking about Downton's immortality and his ability to disappear at will made Gordon's skin crawl, and that was before even considering Zsasz's claim that Downton could grow infinitely stronger!

Damn it, why did a monster like this have to appear in Gotham? What a truly troublesome time to be alive!

While Gordon brooded, the officers gathered around him began to speak in astonishment.

"Boss Downton's ability is too insane; there's absolutely nothing we can do about him!"

"I think the sky over Gotham is about to change. No matter how powerful Boss Falcone is, he's still just a normal human. A normal human is no match for Boss Downton!"

"That's right. If I had Downton's ability, I wouldn't just be American—the whole of America would be mine!"

"Be bolder! The whole world would be mine. If I were immortal, I'd absolutely play with every man on Earth and try out every twisted trick in the book!"

The one who said the last sentence was a female police officer, and her words left everyone else frozen in place.

After a long silence, a black officer not far away rolled his eyes so hard it was impossible to miss and asked, "Rachel, am I not enough to satisfy you? I've got twenty c... huh?"

The black officer paused because another colleague beside him was speaking.

"Hell, Rachel, I took you six times in one night. Are you still not satisfied? Do you have a sex addiction... hmm?"

Both men stopped speaking almost simultaneously, then couldn't help but lock eyes.

After looking at the exhaustion in each other's eyes, they suddenly high-fived and flashed identical grins of regained confidence.

"Next time, together!" the black officer grinned widely.

"You bet!" the white officer flashed his teeth.

Having confirmed they were kindred spirits, the two immediately threw their arms around each other's shoulders and went off to the side to exchange tips on how to handle Rachel.

Gordon took a deep breath at the sight of such subordinates.

He was truly a fool, really, because he had actually thought he could use a bunch of trash like this to catch someone far more dangerous than any criminal Gotham had ever seen!

As the only cop in all of Gotham who hadn't colluded with the likes of Falcone and his ilk, Gordon had encountered more trouble in his twenty-plus years on the force than most people could ever imagine.

Every name that still shone in the dark nights of GothamMaroni, Fish Mooney, Oswald—they were all people Gordon had once faced as enemies.

Beyond the Italian mob bosses, there were others: Sean Riley of Irish descent, Akahara of Japanese descent, Moxon of English descent, Alexandra of Ukrainian descent, and Dragos of Romanian descent.

Damn it, just thinking about the names of these crime lords made Gordon's scalp tingle. Gotham was truly worthy of being the largest port city in America, boasting the most diverse ethnic population in the country.

In the past, Gordon at least had some comfort; although Gotham had a Chinatown, it had no Asian boss, because the Asian bosses were settled in Metropolis, desperate to wash their organizations clean.

But now...

Gordon lifted his head powerlessly, looking up at the eternally murky sky over Gotham.

Everything seemed fine as long as these Asians didn't make a move, but the moment they did, they dropped a bombshell!

Gotham didn't have an Asian boss in the past, right?

Well, look at this now!

The Asians had gone and dropped a living nightmare right into Gotham!

Thinking of this, Gordon covered his face in agony.

Where on earth did this Downton pop up from? Why couldn't he be found in any consumption or tax records across the United States?

Did he just fall out of the sky?
