"Heh... heh~ Yes, yes, Henry, you're right~" With a turn of his wrist, Dumbledore directly summoned his Patronus, his gaze falling on the calm Tom. "The Patronus Charm is an extremely complex spell, very difficult to cast. To succeed, you must focus on the... happiest memory you can think of... Expecto Patronum..."

Without further explanation, Dumbledore traced circles with his wand. After he spoke the incantation, a silvery-white phoenix appeared in the air. Unlike the delighted cheers of the other young wizards, Tom watched the circling Patronus with exceptional calm. What a boring spell...

Difficult to cast? It merely required invoking a tangible positive force. Whether it was one's own emotions or magic, wasn't that something a wizard ought to control? Whether through psychological suggestion or fabricating those so-called happy memories...

Tom frowned and drew his wand. His lips parted slightly as he cast the Patronus Charm, and a cloud of silvery-white vapor shot from the tip of his wand. The next second, Tom cut off the flow of magic with a dark expression. His practical instincts told him that if he actually succeeded in summoning the damned Patronus, he would be so ashamed and furious that he would drop out immediately!

"Ohh~ Well done, Tom~" For some reason, though Dumbledore's tone was cheerful, the smile on his face seemed somewhat false. His eyes flickered as he clapped lightly. "For a wizard casting the Patronus Charm for the first time, being able to produce such a primitive form is quite rare..." Dumbledore could not deny Tom's talent, especially when it came to controlling his mind.

After class, Tom gathered up his books without saying a word and left. He had to hurry back to his dormitory and see whether that damned Patronus was exactly what he feared it would be!
