Stockpiling Soul Power...
Su Ming's face creased into a frown.
It was precisely because of the Soul Power Amplification from his first Soul Ring that, at level twenty, he had no choice but to halt his Soul Power and did not dare obtain his Second Soul Ring.
If his first Soul Ring's passive ability had not granted him a constant thirty-percent boost in every form, his Soul Power would not have condensed to near-solid form so quickly.
Soul Power Amplification manifested in three forms in the Soul Master World. The first directly increased one's Soul Power Upper Limit. The second improved the quality of Soul Power, strengthening the Soul Power itself. The third was rarer: reducing Soul Power Consumption.
Su Ming's first Soul Ring passive possessed all three forms of amplification. His Soul Power Upper Limit had increased by thirty percent, the quality of his Soul Power had increased by thirty percent, and even his usual Soul Power Consumption had decreased by thirty percent.
It seemed as though its quality had only improved by thirty percent, but the actual increase far exceeded that ratio, because the enhancement of his Soul Power itself also fed back into his Martial Soul.
The mechanism of his Martial Soul, combined with the effects of his Soul Ring, had caused the quality of his Soul Power to improve too quickly, forcing him to condense a Soul Core at level twenty.
"If I didn't have the Soul Power Amplification effect, I could at least wait until level thirty, after absorbing the Third Soul Ring, before ending up like this."
To him, Soul Power Amplification was a death warrant.
If his next Soul Skill also amplified Soul Power, then he might have to face the condensation of a Second Soul Core again at level forty.
"But if I don't amplify my Soul Power and raise it to the limit, where am I supposed to begin with the Second Awakening of my Martial Soul?"
Su Ming sighed.
So he still needed to choose a Soul Spirit that amplified Soul Power—preferably one with a Mental Attribute as well.
Dou San.
"Teacher, can the Thousand Forgings metal we forge, and the subsequent Spirit Forged Metal, be fused with Soul Spirits?"
Faced with yet another one of Su Ming's wild ideas, Zhen Hua could not help rubbing his temples.
On the first day after becoming his disciple, Su Ming had already asked many questions. They seemed useless on the surface, yet every one of them touched upon the essence of Forging, making them quite taxing to answer.
The previous questions had all been somewhat impractical, but this one seemed grounded in reality.
"Spirit Forging and Soul Forging can be integrated into a Soul Master's body because Soul Masters are made of flesh and blood, capable of accommodating Spirituality."
"What about Soul Beasts?"
"Soul Beasts..." Zhen Hua said helplessly, "No one has tried it, but theoretically, they should be able to be integrated into a Soul Beast's body."
"And, Teacher, Soul Spirits don't have physical bodies. They aren't flesh and blood, so although they can't accommodate Spirituality, they should be able to form contracts, right?"
"Contracts?"
Zhen Hua was astonished.
He began to think seriously.
"You want Soul Spirits to enjoy the enhancement of Battle Armor like Soul Masters do?"
"Not exactly. The main goal is to give Soul Spirits additional abilities and let them evolve with external help."
Zhen Hua drew in a sharp breath and seriously considered the possibility.
"Yes!"
Before Zhen Hua could give an answer, Mu Ye, dressed in a chef's uniform, pushed over a dining cart.
On the table before him was a plate of shrimp surrounded by a fragrant aroma, every shrimp seemingly carved from crystal.
"I've already verified this question," Mu Ye said. "My Soul Spirit was integrated into my mecha."
Su Ming looked at Mu Ye, waiting for him to continue.
He knew that Mu Ye's Soul Spirit had fused with that God Level mecha, but he knew no further details.
"Little Red was my third Soul Spirit, and also my final one. When I absorbed her, she was only sixty thousand years old. She gave me my sixth Soul Ring."
Sixth Soul Ring?
A glint flashed through Su Ming's eyes.
If he remembered correctly, Mu Ye had five black and four red Soul Rings!
"According to my original plan, I should have fused with another Soul Spirit for my seventh ring, allowing my seventh, eighth, and ninth Soul Rings to all reach the Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring level," Mu Ye said. "But while I was still at the Soul Emperor stage, I had already come up with the same idea you just had. Since I was obsessed with mechas, even though I was only a Soul Emperor back then, I already owned a Black-grade Mecha."
A Soul Emperor with a Black-grade Mecha!
Mecha grades differed from Battle Armor grades, and their correspondence with a Soul Master's Soul Power Level was not as strict. Mechas had ample space and could store additional energy, rather than relying purely on a Soul Master's Soul Power. Battle Armor, on the other hand, was a transformation created by refining mechas to the utmost limit, leaving no space to store additional Soul Power.
Thus, mechas depended more on operation. If one's Soul Power was insufficient, extra energy sources could be equipped.
Their exact combat effectiveness was difficult to assess. They could only be compared in terms of destructive power. White-grade Mechas were the weakest. Yellow-grade Mechas were weaker than One-word Battle Armor Masters. Purple-grade Mechas were slightly stronger than One-word Battle Armor Masters but weaker than Two-word Battle Armor Masters, and so on.
The highest Red-grade Mechas were stronger than Three-word Battle Armor Masters. Moreover, because their materials still had room for improvement, their theoretical upper limit was even higher.
In terms of destructive power, Black-grade Mechas were slightly stronger than Two-word Battle Armor Masters, and Two-word Battle Armor corresponded to Soul Masters at the Soul Emperor stage.
In truth, Soul Emperors could not properly handle Black-grade Mechas, because they were too expensive. Even though the materials they used were several grades lower than those of Two-word Battle Armor, the sheer quantity required made them difficult for a Mecha Master to sustain.
The hardships Mu Ye had endured to own a Black-grade Mecha while still a Soul Emperor were easy to imagine. He truly loved mechas immensely.
"I designed that Mecha to suit Little Red as perfectly as possible. The core components even used Soul Forging Metal. Back then, I had Little Red merge into the Soul Forging Metal as well."
"I succeeded. Little Red smoothly merged into my Mecha's core, and her cultivation age even increased because of it, rising from sixty thousand years to eighty thousand years. After that, I stopped pursuing a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Spirit and focused entirely on nurturing Little Red, upgrading the Mecha again and again."
Mu Ye revealed a nostalgic expression.
Back then, he had been driven purely by passion. All he wanted was to witness the pinnacle of Mechas—the pinnacle of the fusion between Mechas and battle armor as he envisioned it.
"After I upgraded the Mecha to the red rank, Little Red successfully transformed into a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Spirit. I also gained a full four Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings."
Mu Ye did not continue on that topic. Instead, he suddenly asked Su Ming, "Xiao Ming, do you know what rank your teacher is?"
"Rank ninety-four?" Su Ming replied.
"That's right, rank ninety-four." Mu Ye gave a bitter smile. "Once a Soul Master reaches rank ninety-four, to break through to rank ninety-five and become a Super Douluo, they must further develop their Martial Soul. My development of my Martial Soul was more than sufficient, yet I still couldn't break through. That was because Little Red merged with the Mecha, formed a contract with me, and granted me four Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings. It caused the connection between me and the Mecha to become far too deep. My Main Body is my Martial Soul, so I've never been able to break through to rank ninety-five and become a Super Douluo."
He said to Su Ming, "In theory, as long as I continue upgrading the Mecha, Little Red's cultivation age can continue to rise with it. And as the Mecha improves, the restraints on my Main Body will disappear, allowing my Soul Power to increase. But the Rare Metal required for a single Mecha is a hundred times that required for battle armor! If all the materials inside the Mecha were replaced with Soul Forging Metal, the amount consumed would be enough to make a hundred sets of Three-word Battle Armor."
Su Ming's scalp went numb as he listened.
His teacher had really fallen into a bottomless pit.
