Background
Tang San possesses memories and techniques from a previous existence, including the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Tang Sect hidden-weapon arts. He recognizes that these methods are not yet widespread in the current era and initially considers killing witnesses to protect them. He instead preserves ties with Yu Xiaogang and others because they provide resources and connections needed for his plans. 24
His attempt to obtain a powerful second Soul Ring ends in disaster when Shi Yueyi and Radiant Feather Douluo manipulate the available rings. Rather than receiving the thousand-year ring he sought, he absorbs a ten-year Blue Silver Grass ring and collapses in despair. 27
Following this failure, Tang San deliberately suppresses his cultivation to keep events close to the path he expects. He remains at level 29 for four years while preparing to secure later opportunities, including his third Soul Ring and the Eight Spider Lances. 46 164
His second awakening in Blue Silver Valley reveals him as a Blue Silver Crown Prince, but the awakening evolves his Martial Soul into Dark Blue Silver Grass rather than the expected Blue Silver Emperor. The incomplete evolution and his accumulated resentment transform both his appearance and disposition, marking him as an Evil or Fallen Soul Master. 235 236
Appearance
Following his second Martial Soul awakening, Tang San becomes barely recognizable even to Ma Hongjun. His changed appearance is explicitly tied to the darkness and resentment within him. 236 237
- Dark Blue Silver Grass bears black-gold patterns and behaves like a venomous plant in combat. 322
- His complexion becomes unhealthy; stress and resentment leave him with prominent pimples and an unsettling appearance. 292
- Black energy and a dark aura can emerge from his body when his anger intensifies. 236 322
- His right arm contains a ten-year Secret Method Soul Bone that slightly enhances his Mysterious Jade Hand. 322
Personality
Tang San is calculating, possessive, and intensely focused on reclaiming power he believes belongs to him. He views former possessions, locations, and Soul Beasts as inherently his, and reacts with anger when Spirit Hall takes or alters them. 223 322
He is willing to use ruthless methods against enemies and allies alike. He attacks the dean who tried to protect him, attempts to devour Soul Beasts and opponents for advancement, secretly enhances Ma Hongjun without consent, and later states that he must be ruthless even toward himself to oppose Spirit Hall. 26 237 256 411
Despite this, he remains protective of selected companions—especially Xiao Wu—and values followers who can support his eventual Tang Sect. His generosity toward teammates is often intertwined with the expectation that they will serve him in the future. 83 281

- Shi Yueyi’s healing energy can dissolve its Soul Power. 278
- Fire energy from a Blazing Jade Flower temporarily taints the Martial Soul and causes pain when it is summoned. 296
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang San’s second Martial Soul, revealed during the incident with the Demonic Eye Tree. 26
- Used to attack the dean and strike the Demonic Eye Tree. 26 27
- Its first documented ring is an approximately 18,000-year Great Ape Soul Ring focused on strength amplification. 307
- Tang San initially conceals it in tournament combat because of the embarrassing colors of its Soul Rings. 323
- Can be incorporated into the Seven-in-One Fusion Skill, becoming a massive dark-gold hammer supported by Tang Hao’s Spiritual Power. 354
Spear Techniques
Tang San uses spear arts derived from his prior knowledge and can combine them with his Blue Silver Grass Soul Skills. 24 344

- Possesses a Zhuge Divine Crossbow, which he attempts to use against Ye Lingling. 206
- Acquires rare metals in Slaughter City for future Soul Tool and Battle Armor development. 389
- His shackles in Slaughter Town are designed to keep his hands clenched and prevent hidden-weapon techniques. 376
