"If today weren't the fifth day of Theme Week, I'd find it hard to believe that so much had happened in just half a month."

After an unremarkable Thursday, today was once again like most of the week. New York City remained perfectly safe. Even the NYPD and fire department communication channels were as quiet as usual, with neither supervillains nor tech criminals in sight.

"If only New York City were really as peaceful as it looked."

As he swung on webs, Peter recalled his dream. He couldn't remember many details clearly, but he distinctly remembered a spider with "42" on its back.

This obviously wasn't a joke about 42 being the ultimate answer to the universe. If the dream hadn't just been an ordinary dream, then it probably explained where Peter was about to go—the universe where the story of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took place.

A spider from Earth-42 had come to Earth-1610 because of Kingpin's plan, bitten Miles Morales of that universe, and set off a whole series of events.

Peter didn't know what point in the movie he would arrive at. It would be great if he could get there early enough to stop that spider from biting Miles.

It wasn't because he had any prejudice against Miles. Though the second movie's idiotic attempt to elevate Miles by putting down every Spider-Man, including Spider-Punk, was stupid, and the whole Web-War premise was stupid too.

His reasons for stopping it were, first, that he could save that universe's Peter Parker. Second, he could take the spider back to Earth-42 and give that universe its own Spider-Man. That was how the story ought to have developed.
