Cindy was sick.
That genuinely surprised Peter. Ever since he had been bitten by that radioactive spider, it seemed as though he had said goodbye to the word "illness" for good. Even back when he was still unfamiliar with fighting, when every bone in his body had been broken, all he needed was a day or two of sleep to recover.
So when he heard that Cindy was sick, he was indeed rather shocked. After giving it some thought, he decided to pay her a visit.
"According to Fury, Cindy just has an ordinary cold and fever. A doctor has already seen her—though I have no idea whether it was a regular family doctor, a hospital doctor, or a S.H.I.E.L.D. doctor. That last one especially doesn't sound trustworthy."
Peter swung along on his webs as he thought, while nearby JJJ reported the latest news on the Roxxon-Stark war. "According to the latest reports, the war between Roxxon and Stark is no longer limited to electricity prices. Tony Stark has announced that he will hold the Stark New Energy Technology Expo this December, where he will demonstrate all the advantages of new energy and new power, as well as why Roxxon's outdated garbage belongs in the trash. Ha, Stark's usual big talk."
"I'm glad your attention isn't on Spider-Man right now, Jonah. You look much kinder when it isn't. Uncle Ben always said getting angry was bad for your health. I really hope you take that to heart."
Swinging on his webs, Peter landed near a bookstore. At first, he had planned to bring Cindy something to eat, but then he realized he truly had no idea what she liked to eat.
He had even, in a moment of madness, messaged Fury to ask. Fury never replied—probably because Fury did not
