"What's wrong?"
Leo looked at everyone as they fell silent.
Skye's gaze was conflicted too. A month ago, she might not have cared at all about those suspicious looks.
But after spending all this time with them,
Skye had felt a sense of security she had never known before, and even something like the warmth of family.
Simmons leaned close to Leo's ear and whispered, "Skye used to be part of the Rising Tide. Director Coulson recruited her afterward."
"But Skye has already completed plenty of missions with us. We've been through life and death together. I think she should... be fine, right?" Fitz also leaned over and spoke quietly.
There was a trace of uncertainty in his words. After all, they had only known her for a little over a month, which was not enough to trust her completely.
Leo could not help looking at Skye too. In his increasingly hazy memories, Skye seemed to be a good person. Agent Ward, standing beside her, was another matter. His roommate had cursed Ward endlessly back then; he was no good.
But Leo had never watched the storyline involving Coulson. Remembering Chen Haoran at all was already an achievement.
Skye noticed Leo looking at her, and a faint, bitter smile tugged at her lips.
Then Coulson called Skye into his office, with Agent Ward, her supervising officer, accompanying her.
Naturally, Leo went in too, wanting to see how Coulson would handle it.
Ward glanced sideways at Leo, but judging by Coulson's attitude, Leo's rank as a consultant was probably higher than his own, so he could not object.
Inside the office, Skye hurried to defend herself. "The Rising Tide is a huge global hacking organization. Anyone could have done this. It wasn't me."
"No one said you did it," Ward said,
