Arc 17War and the Sage’s Arrival

As the Five Great Shinobi Villages prepared to invade the Land of Whirlpools, Xun Uzumaki helped Lan Village grow and began teaching its creatures Sage Mode. Kaguya’s arrival drew Xun into a clash with Hagoromo, while the Land of Whirlpools prepared to defend itself and Hiruko summoned Director Madara.

  • The Five Great Shinobi Villages rejected the Land of Whirlpools’ refusal of their demands and began mustering an invasion, while the Clan Head ordered the country sealed and its forces recalled.

Xun Uzumaki returned to a world on the brink of war as Madara and Hashirama intervened in the Nine-Tails’ attack on Konoha. The Land of Whirlpools helped end the fighting, exposed Konoha’s abuses, and emerged with the other villages’ alliance in collapse.

  • Itachi encountered Zabuza and Kisame in the Land of Whirlpools, and Madara, Hashirama, and Obito arrived before the mist ninja could harm him.
  • Madara gave Obito a Rinnegan and visited Mikoto with Itachi, while Tsunade learned Hashirama had returned and told him about the Senju Clan’s losses and Xun’s disappearance.

As the Land of Whirlpools expanded its influence through trade, education, and the Tailed Beasts, Minato led Konoha through a bloodless revolution that reshaped the Land of Fire. The other great villages then began revolutions of their own, but their Daimyo's Mansions rejected them.

  • Kakashi and Minato surveyed Konoha’s ruins and vowed to rebuild, while Fugaku revealed that he had trapped Miyakado in a genjutsu.

After Xun awakened Kaguya and rallied the world against the threat of aliens, the stretch ended with Itachi graduating and receiving Madara’s promised candy.
