History

Expansion and conflict with the Immortal Realm

The Eternal Universe has existed since time immemorial; its true age and total scale are unknown. It can break through spatial-temporal barriers to invade other universes and worlds, and its cultivators became powerful through repeated expansion. 251

After coming into contact with the Immortal Realm, the two sides entered a prolonged conflict. The Immortal Realm initially broke into the Eternal Universe but could not destroy it; later, Eternal Universe forces entered the Immortal Realm. The conflict eventually settled into a stalemate of lower-level skirmishes rather than all-out war. 273

Its immense population gives it a major attritional advantage: a single inhabited planet can contain hundreds of millions of intelligent beings, while the universe itself possesses countless planets. 261

Black Ruins invasion

The Eternal Universe opened a passage into the Black Ruins and used it as an invasion route. Its cultivators repeatedly entered the lower realm, while constructs left by Eternal Universe Heavenly Venerates—including forbidden zones and mysterious wonders—remained embedded there. 260 261

Ji Qing ultimately used the Black Ruins' power to move the Black Ruins away from the Eternal Universe, causing their cosmic passage to withdraw and the breach in the Black Ruins to heal. 286

Alliance against the Gods' Universe

The Eternal Universe and Immortal Realm later formed an alliance against the Gods' Universe. Their leaders recognized that, if the Immortal Realm were annexed, the Eternal Universe would be the next target. 305

Two hundred Eternal Universe Domain Lords reinforced the Ninth Heaven. By transforming into Heavenly Bodies, they could withstand the pressure of linked Divine Kingdoms and help sever the Gods' Universe's network of divine kingdoms. 305

Origin Devouring Giant Beast crisis

When the Origin Devouring Giant Beast threatened the three neighboring universes, Eternal Universe Realm Lords were unable to repel it and sought outside assistance. The three Great Dao Ancestors of the Immortal Realm eventually captured the beast and secured a favor from the Eternal Universe. 309 311

That favor led Lord of Destiny to permit Ji Qing's curse clone to attain authority within the Eternal Universe. The clone successfully merged with a portion of its cosmic authority and became its second Universe Master, the Lord of Curses. 312

Cosmology

• The Eternal Universe is described as a vast, mysterious expanse containing a dense Milky Way and innumerable stars. 275
• The Immortal Realm is stated to be larger in scale, though neither universe was able to decisively defeat the other during their war. 273
• Its proximity to the Immortal Realm enabled cosmic passages between them; the principal passage to the Eternal Universe was located in the First Heaven. 308
• The Sky Abyss was left by Yuan Heavenly Venerate of the Eternal Universe. Its hidden fifth layer contains an imitation small universe that helps foreign-universe cultivators recuperate and restore their strength. 260 261
• Eternal Universe Heavenly Venerates left behind many forbidden zones and wonders in the Black Ruins, though these constructs generally require True Immortal-level power to damage or destroy. 260

Cultivation System

Heavenly Bodies

The Heavenly Body is a defining transformation in the Eternal Universe system. It greatly enhances defense, but can reduce mobility and flexibility. 305

• A powerful soul is necessary for a cultivator to transform into a Heavenly Body. 274
• Domain Lords use Heavenly Bodies to stabilize their Domain Realms. 309
• Realm Lords advance further by transforming their domains into true worlds. 309

Governance

• Lord of Destiny — The original Universe Master and primary authority of the Eternal Universe. He approved Ji Qing's curse clone's Dao enlightenment and authority integration. 312
• Lord of Curses — Ji Qing's curse clone. After resisting the universe's rejection and merging with unclaimed authority through the Curse Dao, it became the Eternal Universe's second Universe Master. 312
• Realm Lords — The universe's highest ordinary cultivators beneath its Universe Masters; they participated in the defense against the Origin Devouring Giant Beast and the war against the Gods' Universe. 305 311

Relationships

• Immortal Realm — Former long-term enemy. The two universes reached a stalemate before becoming allies against the Gods' Universe. 273 305
