The White Snake Patriarch resides beneath White Snake Lake in White Snake Cave, a jade-lit underground dwelling inhabited by numerous white snakes and pythons. The creatures lower their heads in his presence, and the lake entrance responds to his domain with a vortex. 58

He accepts Jiang Yuan and Li Ke as disciples and teaches them without holding back, despite being moody, capricious, and morally unaligned. Jiang Yuan trains in White Snake Cave for two years, receiving the Patriarch’s sword arts, movement techniques, hand techniques, cultivation method, resources, and training grounds. 58 59 63

When the White Lotus Sect questions Jiang Yuan’s destruction of its strongholds, the Patriarch treats the matter as an affront to his lineage. He overwhelms Purple Dragon Dharma King with a divine-serpent phantom, then restores the forest damaged by their clash. 63
