| Blood Pill Venerable contingency | 129 130 | The Human Alliance awakened sealed Blood Pill Venerables, restoring short-lived Venerable-level combatants capable of confronting Great Abnormalities. |
| Reorganized border defense | 296 297 | Thirty years after the first invasion, the Human Alliance had expanded its Grandmaster ranks, deployed the ten-thousand-strong Town Evil Army, and combined ancient formations with its forces. |
| Human Race uprising and Venerable expansion | 302 305 306 | Blood Masters united after the discovery of a Human Pen; later, hundreds of Human Race experts with Great Abnormality-level auras and hundreds of Blood Pill Venerables helped overwhelm the Cang Empire. |
| Great Han golden age | 303 309 | The Great Han integrated multiple territories and maintained orthodox martial arts, blood-force martial arts, and cultivation as parallel systems. Its younger generation increasingly chose blood-force martial arts to fight the Strange. |
Background / History
Accounts of the Human Race’s earlier eras describe a civilization whose martial path once dominated the world. Grade One Exotic Bones were so rare that only two were recorded in the Heavenly Gifted Civilization, and each was said to have altered humanity’s fate; later records also credit Rank One Bones with driving out Feral Beasts and enabling the Human Race to unify the continent. 117 209
Five thousand years before the Human Pen incident, the Human Race built the Barbaric Great Wall and separated itself from the Feral Beasts. Humans alone possessed Heavenly Gifted Exotic Bones, making both awakened and ordinary humans desirable prey to Feral Beasts; the resulting scarcity of human prey led some Feral Beasts to create captive Human Pens. 112
The rise of Abnormalities devastated the martial path and brought humanity close to extinction. A thousand years before the Strange Realm invasion, Saint Mingyang drove back the Demon Kingdom, established North Shuo City as a northern bastion, and left the Bright Sun Temple to stabilize human qi and protect the Hundred Cities Region. 127
That protection eventually failed when North Shuo City fell under the Strange Realm’s influence. The Human Alliance assembled thousands of Blood-Force Masters and repurposed ancient formations to contain the invasion, but its leaders discovered that their surviving martial inheritance was inadequate against Venerable-level Great Abnormalities. 127 128
Human resistance later spread beyond the Hundred Cities Domain. Rebel forces endured in the Vast Cang Domain despite being weak, hunted, and misunderstood by many of the people they sought to protect. 223 229
Following a mass uprising in the Elephant King Domain, Jiang Yuan’s incarnation formally established the Han Nation under the era name Nirvana, signifying the intended rebirth of the Human Race. The later Great Han Empire linked its territories through a massive spatial gate and entered a period of rapid development. 303 309
Territories and Conditions
| Region | Human Race condition |
|---|---|
| Hundred Cities Domain | The principal human homeland and, later, described as the last pure land of the Human Race. It was protected by Saint Mingyang’s legacy but faced repeated invasions from the Blackwood Domain. 121 223 297 |
| Elephant King Domain | A “half-pure” human territory where Humans, Demons, and Monsters coexisted under the Elephant King’s hierarchy. Ordinary humans were lower class, while Blood Masters could enter the middle class and gain status. 187 188 223 |
| Vast Cang Domain / Cang Dynasty | Humans were treated as livestock despite nominal inclusion in the Cang Dynasty. The Human Race Rebel Army secretly preserved Blood-Force inheritance and recruited talented children from human villages. 222 223 229 |
| Blackwood Domain | Humans were treated as high-value food and sold through auctions, creating intense demand among the Domain’s Abnormalities. 297 |
| Great Han Empire | A human-ruled state formed from the Hundred Cities Domain, Elephant King Domain, and the Cultivation World’s Han polity. It later incorporated surviving populations from conquered territories and promoted martial development. 303 308 309 |
Society
In the Heavenly Gifted Civilization era, immense external pressure produced a highly united society. The strong were expected to protect the Human Race, leaders were chosen for virtue and ability, and selfishness or idleness was treated with contempt. 103
This unity was not universal across later eras. The Hundred Cities Region consisted of independently controlled cities that aided one another against outside threats but initially lacked a single central authority; Beishuo City’s proposal for a Hundred-City Alliance sought to change that. 108
In oppressed domains, survival often damaged collective resistance. Many humans in the Cang Dynasty viewed the Rebel Army as dangerous bandits rather than liberators, fearing retaliation from Abnormality rulers and resenting the rebels’ removal of talented children. 223 229
The Elephant King Domain used limited upward mobility to absorb human elites into its order. By making Blood Mastery the path to security and status, the Elephant King redirected many humans from resisting Abnormalities toward serving its regime. 188
Martial Traditions and Military Methods
Heavenly Gifted Exotic Bones
The Human Race uniquely possesses Heavenly Gifted Exotic Bones, whose awakened users cultivate Spiritual Energy and serve as specialized defenders against Feral Beasts. 103 112
- Grade One Exotic Bones are known as Son or Daughter of Heaven bones and were historically capable of changing humanity’s fate. 117
- Heavenly Gifted Martial Artist squads trained new awakeners while clearing intelligent Feral Beasts near human settlements. 103
- Feral Beasts are strongly attracted to the aura associated with human Exotic Bones, making humans a particularly valuable target. 112
Blood Force
Blood Force became humanity’s principal weapon during the era in which the older martial path had declined. Blood-Force Grandmasters possess a natural restraining effect on Abnormalities, Demons, Ghosts, and Ghouls. 127 128 201
- Blood Masters were considered the peak of the Human Race in the Elephant King Domain and could gain social standing unavailable to ordinary humans. 190
- Combined Blood Force can form a sea of blood capable of suppressing foes stronger than an individual Blood Master. 201 226
- Blood Pill Venerables use Golden Cores and their own life force to temporarily return Venerable-level power to humanity. 129 298
Formations and Army Techniques
Human forces preserve and adapt techniques inherited from earlier eras. The Human Alliance modified ancient formations to run on the power of the Strange after later generations lost the ability to use Spiritual Energy directly. 127
- The Town Evil Army uses a method of condensing killing intent into a shared army soul, allowing its soldiers to gather collective power. 297
- Human formation masters can stack enhancement formations to multiply the combat capacity of Blood Masters. 203
- Great Han later supported orthodox martial artists, blood-force martial artists, and cultivators simultaneously rather than enforcing a single path. 309
Relationships
- Feral Beasts — Predators and long-standing enemies. Some Feral Beasts captured humans for Human Pens and raised them as food after the Barbaric Great Wall restricted access to wild human populations. 112
- Abnormalities / the Strange — Humanity’s primary existential enemy after the collapse of the martial path. Abnormalities invaded the Hundred Cities Domain, consumed human populations, and repeatedly sought to turn humanity into livestock. 127 128 297
- Demons and Monsters — Oppressors and nominal cohabitants in the Elephant King Domain. Even where laws prohibited open abuse, many continued to regard humans as food or inferior beings. 187 201 286
- Elephant King — A half-human Domain Lord who used Blood Masters as the backbone of his power. His policies gave some humans status while suppressing independent resistance. 187 188
- Saint Mingyang / True Man Blood Sun — Revered human protector of the Hundred Cities Domain. Saint Mingyang’s legacy established humanity’s sanctuary, while outer domains knew him as the powerful True Man Blood Sun. 127 223
- Human Race Rebel Army — Resistance force active in the Vast Cang Domain. Initially small and hunted, it later became a major armed movement capable of challenging the Cang Empire. 223 304 305
