Dao Tianqi's expression was grave. With lowered eyelids, he saw Dao Lords situated in different times—clearly in the same place, yet each entirely distinct from the others.
That single glance gave him a vague realization.
Then, faint footsteps drifted over.
"Tap, tap."
Every step was heavy as a mountain, as though it were treading upon Dao Tianqi's Primordial Spirit. He jolted awake and had no choice but to look up at the towering figure approaching from afar.
He was not moving quickly, his motions slow and unhurried. Yet in the next instant, he crossed from an immeasurable distance to stand before Dao Tianqi. This was neither shrinking the earth into inches nor some profound footwork—it was the direct manifestation in reality of the future in which he had "walked before Dao Tianqi."
Seeing this, Dao Tianqi did not waste a word. He turned and ran.
The shadowy Netherworld abruptly emerged, and his figure immediately sought to flee into it. That was his home ground; even Chu Sheng would find it difficult to kill him there.
Chu Sheng said nothing.
He merely took another step. Without warning, he directly arrived between Dao Tianqi and the Netherworld, as though he had become a barrier dividing past from future.
Dao Tianqi was in the past, while the Netherworld lay in the future.
Though they appeared within arm's reach, they were utterly beyond contact. After using this to sever Dao Tianqi's escape route, Chu Sheng extended a finger once more.
"Rumble!"
There was no reunion between master and disciple. The instant Chu Sheng appeared, he struck with a killing move. Feeling the lethal danger emanating from that finger, Dao Tianqi instead smiled.
"So eager, Master?"
Though Chu Sheng appeared infinitely mighty at that moment, separating all the Dao Lords
