Background / History

The World Honored One’s path to enlightenment is built around three bodies spread across time. His past body was Shi Tianyi, the First Generation Myriad Treasure Peak Master; his present body was Di Mituo, Radiant World Exchange Light True Lord; and his future body became Di Mouni, the World Honored One of the Pure Land of Profound Joy. His present body severed its karma from the Real World, entered False History, and passed naturally through its time until it reached the future. 1034 1192

This design protects the foundation of his Dao Lordhood. Only someone holding City Top Earth can reach the karmically isolated location of his present body; even then, they must defeat him there to make him fall from the supreme position of the Other Shore. 1034

His enlightenment was also a strategic measure intended to prevent other Dao Lords from interfering with his Nascent Soul pursuit. City Top Earth is considered his forbidden possession because of its ability to alter the past and affect the future. 877

The World Honored One created the Foundation Establishment Realm, making its stability an important part of his larger designs. His connection to the realm’s collapse gives him leverage in conflicts involving the Sacred Sect Ancestor, the Netherworld, and the Other Shore. 1039

The World Honored One is patient, calculating, and intensely pragmatic. He treats karma, history, allies, and enemies alike as pieces in a larger arrangement, regularly concealing his aims until an opportunity becomes decisive. His successful use of Dharma Power and Spell Dao Lords as bait to borrow the Heavenly Dao demonstrates this approach. 1192 1196

He is also adaptive rather than rigidly prideful. When circumstances become unfavorable, he is willing to retreat, bargain, seek cooperation, or change his plans instead of insisting on victory through force alone. 1001 1340 1449

His concern for Lower Cultivators is ambiguous for much of the story.
