Night fell early in Chang'e City.
Strictly speaking, from seven in the evening onward, most people stayed indoors with their doors shut, and the shops along the streets had already closed for the day. To be honest, Sayu and Fang Zheng, who came from a big city, found it somewhat hard to get used to—after all, nightfall at seven was simply too early.
However, according to the innkeeper, the people around here had always lived this way. Considering that Chang'e City had originally been an isolated village cut off from the outside world, perhaps its people really did live by working at sunrise and resting at sunset.
"Still, this place is pretty nice."
Standing on the rooftop, Fang Zheng stretched and looked around. It was already September, and because the city was surrounded by mountains, the wind carried a faint chill.
More than that...
"It's called Chang'e City, yet the moon here doesn't look anything like the Moon Palace."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng raised his head toward the sky. A blood-red moon hung hidden amid the clouds, its crimson light blanketing all of Chang'e City. It reminded Fang Zheng of Yharnam... Yeah, those were not good memories.
Come to think of it, why was this place called Chang'e City?
Fang Zheng had asked Asagiri Kaname that question earlier that day. In fact, the city's name had been the biggest reason he had grown curious and come here in the first place. Naturally, hearing a familiar term in a foreign land had piqued his interest.
But to his disappointment, although the place was called Chang'e City, it seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with Chang'e. Its most famous features were hassaku oranges and wolves—though the latter were rabbits' natural enemies, weren't they?
So why the hell was this place
