First Appearance Chapter 41

Appearance

Luo Tiger is a slightly hunched, middle-aged man whose ordinary, even sleazy appearance conceals his status as one of the Empire's most feared figures. 129 170

  • Often narrows his eyes while speaking. 129
  • Lacks the bearing expected of either an aristocrat or a conventional soldier. 129
  • Even fashionable clothes appear vulgar on him because of his temperament. 129
  • Has been compared to a market vendor or a sleazy uncle next door. 129 170
  • Earned enough military medals to fill a medium-sized storage box. 129

Personality

Luo Tiger is outwardly casual, sarcastic, and frequently shameless, yet he acts with decisive conviction when the Empire, Ronan, or his long-term plans are threatened. He dismisses his own public prestige as people merely seeking someone who makes them feel safe. 156

He is deeply secretive about the past and willing to accept being misunderstood by his son. Though Ronan views him as a coward for much of the story, Luo Tiger insists that Ronan must follow his own path without Luo Tiger's constraints. 41 129

His protection is often harsh and indirect. He deliberately allows Ronan to confront dangerous opponents as a means of growth, while arranging tools, information, and guardians around him. 238 240 275

Background / History

Luo Tiger spent more than thirty years fighting across the Empire and rose to become the Military Department's foremost figure. His subordinates were spread throughout the Eastern Star River, while rebels, alien creatures, remnants of wizard forces, and civilians alike recognized him as a legend. 41

Twenty years before the main story, Luo Tiger emerged as the second Sword Holder and defeated the Ancient Nineteen Paths alone. Acting with the Chen clan and the Military Department, he forced their core members into seclusion and suppressed the spread of Martial Arts Techniques across the Empire. 262 270 He later explained that Chen Butcher and he regarded unrestricted martial arts as a path toward a new Dark Era, in which superhuman power would damage technological development, equality, employment, and public order. 274

Fourteen years before the Mordo incident, Luo Tiger disbanded the unit that had won fame and noble status under his command. Around the same period, he sent Ronan to New Moon, an act that permanently damaged their relationship. 129

During the Mordo crisis, Luo Tiger initially remained in the background while He Sicheng nominally directed the response. Once Mordo threatened Ronan, he personally descended onto the ice and defeated the ancient creature with overwhelming ease. 156 168 169 Afterward, he pursued those connected to Ronan's imprisonment, infiltrated Crescent Prison, intimidated Mo Mo, and forced Chen Xuanbin to halt the hunt for Ronan. 173

Luo Tiger later arranged for Ronan to receive the Pig Slaughtering Sword's Sword Intent, using Li Nanbei's transformation into a monster as the pressure needed for Ronan to break through. 238 He subsequently explained the Sword Holder legacy, the suppression of the Ancient Nineteen Paths, and the existence of the Hyperdimensional Universe to Ronan. 274 275

Before leaving for the Hyperdimensional World, Luo Tiger placed Xiao An and Shaobing near Ronan for his protection and sought to remove powerful martial artists whose presence could destabilize the Empire after his departure. 275 293 348 He then assassinated Chen Xuanbin and massacred the Chen Imperial Family, leaving Chen Sigao as the sole survivor of Luo Tiger's attack. 348 349

Abilities & Skills

Martial Arts Mastery

Luo Tiger is one of the Empire's strongest martial artists and the previous-generation Sword Holder. He defeated the Ancient Nineteen Paths by himself and remained powerful enough that their successors inherited fear of him through their elders' accounts. 270 318

  • Defeated every dojo of the Ancient Nineteen Paths alone. 262
  • Previously held the Sword Holder identity later given to Ronan. 318
  • Is regarded as stronger than nearly every martial artist of his era. 346
  • Considers peak martial artists capable of changing politics with a wave of the hand. 348

Overwhelming Physical Combat

Luo Tiger's personal combat ability vastly exceeds that of ordinary Mech Pilots, martial artists, and most supernatural threats.

  • Easily dominated Mordo, treating the creature as a toy and destroying its Evil Eyes one by one. 169
  • His arrival alone caused veteran soldier Lei Su to break down in tears of respect. 168
  • Killed the guards of Crescent Prison and members of the Crescent Family who had contact with Ronan over fourteen years. 173
  • Slaughtered the Chen Imperial Family in approximately fifteen minutes. 349
  • Cannot defeat a Seven-Eyed Mordo carrying the Lotus of Life, establishing a rare limit to his strength. 417 418

Swordsmanship

Luo Tiger can wield the Tian Gang Sword across immense distances and use it against Hyperdimensional threats. 300

  • Used the Tian Gang Sword to cut A Tu's power-transmission channel and save Shaobing. 300
  • Struck three times through the void, forcing A Tu to retreat. 300
  • Later fought A Tu's clone and was identified by A Tu as a peak Second-Order lifeform. 390

Military and Political Influence

Even after retirement, Luo Tiger's reputation, former command network, and political weight affect the Empire's military and ruling institutions. 41 155

  • Formerly stood among the Military Department's three giants. 129 131
  • His influence was considered significant enough that He Sicheng was supported as a counterbalance to him. 131 156
  • His return during the Mordo incident was concealed from the public to prevent him from becoming the Empire's hero again. 169
  • Handed the Luo family's Great Sage Voting Symbol to Cao Muzi during the Upper and Lower House conflict. 330

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Tian Gang Sword — A rusty-looking but unstoppable sword Luo Tiger uses against Hyperdimensional enemies; he later allows it to pass toward Yang Qingfeng's succession. 300
  • Pig Slaughtering Sword's Sword Intent — A gift or arranged inheritance that enables Ronan to master the Pig Slaughtering Sword Art. 238
  • Shaobing — Though not an item, Luo Tiger repeatedly uses the cursed dragon-dog's abilities for travel, exploration, and retrieving sealed objects. 173 203 415

Relationships

  • Ronan — His son. Their relationship begins in estrangement after Ronan's abandonment on New Moon, but develops into mutual acknowledgment before Luo Tiger's departure. 41 129 275
  • Madam — Ronan's mother and Luo Tiger's lost partner. Her disappearance, rather than confirmed death, is a central reason for Luo Tiger's journey into the Hyperdimensional Universe. 275 459
  • He Sicheng — Fellow Military Department giant and political counterweight. They understand one another's roles but remain constrained by imperial suspicion and competing responsibilities. 131 156
  • Earl Will — Former subordinate who remains devoted to Luo Tiger despite resentment over events fourteen years earlier. 129 131
  • Li Nanbei — Disciple accepted by Luo Tiger as a potential successor. 131
  • Xiao An — Former adversary with a past connection to Luo Tiger; he defeats and spares her, then takes Shaobing from her. 170 240
  • Shaobing — A cursed dragon-dog Luo Tiger “borrows” and repeatedly employs for dangerous tasks; Luo Tiger later leaves him near Ronan for protection. 173 275
  • Chen Xuanbin — Emperor and former associate whose past betrayal of Madam leads Luo Tiger to threaten, assassinate, and ultimately destroy the Chen family. 173 348 349
  • Mister Fu — Master of the Celestial Gang Dojo and one of the reclusive martial masters Luo Tiger brings toward the Hyperdimensional World. 300 348
