Xiao Family and lost talent

Xiao Yan grew up as Xiao Zhan's son in Wutan City, but considers his identity as a transmigrator more fundamental than either his family ties or his life in the Dou Qi Continent. He rejects forced marriage contracts and regards a loveless arrangement as torture for both parties 507 508.

His cultivation collapsed after the Ring on his finger drained his Dou Zhi Qi. Once Lu Yuan temporarily removed it, Xiao Yan immediately recovered to the fourth stage of Dou Zhi Qi, revealing that his former cultivation foundation had not truly vanished 511.

Lu Yuan's revelations about external watchers and Xiao Xun'er's hidden identity cause Xiao Yan to question whether his lost talent and past relationship were manipulated. Believing that Xiao Xun'er deceived him, he cuts ties with her and reacts with intense anger and self-reproach 509 510 523.
