Each grade is understood to contain early, middle, and late stages, giving the Heavenly Sovereign Realm nine minor realms in practical terms. The late-stage Saint Grade is the level associated with eight of the Nine Emperors; the Immortal Emperor alone reached the Half-Step Dominator Realm. 1209

Breakthrough and Pseudo Heavenly Sovereigns

A normal breakthrough from Earth Supreme to Heavenly Sovereign produces a vast celestial phenomenon, generally extending at least ten million kilometers. Its form varies with the cultivator’s technique and physique. 1117

• Natural breakthrough — Produces a true Heavenly Sovereign with intact potential for further advancement. 1117
• Pill-assisted breakthrough — Pills refined by Xiao Yan can increase an Earth Supreme’s chance of ascending, but the resulting cultivator has roughly seventy percent of a naturally advanced Heavenly Sovereign’s strength and is unlikely to progress further. 1117
• Pseudo Heavenly Sovereign — A designation applied to imperfect or incomplete Heavenly Sovereigns, including pill-assisted ascendants and certain Spirit Grade cultivators reliant on inherited lower-grade Dharmakayas rather than an independent path. 1117 1122 1177

Capabilities and Authority

Combat Power

The gap between Heavenly Sovereigns and Earth Supremes is greater than the gap between Earth Supremes and Supremes. Even a casual strike from a Heavenly Sovereign can sink a state and erase billions of lives unless powerful formations intervene. 1096

Heavenly Sovereigns possess Level Two Permissions, connecting them directly to the Heavenly Dao will of the Myriad Heavens rather than merely to a continent’s will. 1097

Heavenly Sovereigns may fight or cripple one another, but they are forbidden by the Myriad Heavens’ unspoken rules from killing one another. 1094

Lu Yuan’s killing of the Western Heaven Battle Emperor while still a Supreme exploited a loophole in this rule: the restriction applied to Heavenly Sovereigns killing peers, not to a lower-realm cultivator killing one. 1094
