Sandora and I had gone out several times with Yiersen's servants or reconnaissance ships sent by the Empire. Though we found nothing, we treated it as taking the kids—and Qian Qian, who always had to be singled out from the adults and lumped in with the children in situations like this—out for fun. It wasn't too boring. Still, as time passed and we remained stuck on an incident whose nature we didn't even understand, Sandora and I were starting to feel a little frustrated.
To ease her frustration, Sandora had already gone out to hunt for food. She probably wouldn't return until nightfall—or until she had eaten the church cafeteria clean.
