Sandora was highly warlike; that was a fact acknowledged by every Shilin Apostle. For a powerful Empress who could single-handedly lead an army to conquer one-tenth of the Empire's territory, the title War Song Princess was well deserved.
But now, Sandora dearly wished for world peace.
After fighting a war for over ten thousand years with no hope of victory, even the War Song Princess had developed a severe allergy to battle.
Unfortunately, no world could be completely peaceful. As long as a world existed, conflict was bound to exist. If that world happened to contain intelligent life, such conflict was highly likely to manifest in the form of warfare.
Now Sandora faced a particularly troublesome battle, one she could not avoid, because her opponent was an old enemy of the Empire, something she had been fighting ever since she could remember.
The Abyss.
Sandora stood atop a magnificent wall built entirely from massive stones, its gaps filled with molten lead and reinforced by countless enhancement spells. A scorching wind curled past her, sending her golden hair flying and forming a dazzling sight.
Before her stretched an uncountable tide of demonized monsters, rolling like black mud. Behemoths, demons, magical beasts, false dragons, even true dragons were mixed among them, but all had been thoroughly corrupted by the aura of the Abyss and had lost their original wills. Black mist rose from their bodies, making them even more violent and crazed. Their skin was dry and cracked, foul white vapor continually spilling from their mouths. Their low growls blended into one, and the air was so thick it seemed ready to solidify. Countless blood-red eyes reflected Sandora's slender figure, yet it was precisely that frail-looking figure that kept the millions of Demonized Creatures below the wall from making a reckless move.
