Under Tawell's orders, the scanning probes were withdrawn from the object from another world. Two Empire Technicians personally stepped forward and used the specialized scanning equipment built into their bodies to conduct an in-depth examination of the strange, extremely dense substance. A few seconds later, an image even clearer than before appeared on the information screen in Tawell's hand: a humanoid creature in battle, and a monster with barely humanoid limbs and a twisted torso.
Compared to the grotesque half-human monster, the humanoid creature naturally drew more of our attention. He appeared to be a burly man clad in strangely styled yet exquisitely made armor. The heavy armor, etched with intricate patterns, bore sharp steel spikes at its major joints that clearly were not decorative, making it an Ultimate Weapon. In the hands of this humanoid creature, whose hair and beard stood on end in rage, was a massive sword—please allow me to use "massive" to describe a sword; I honestly had no idea how else to describe something like a door panel. He was hunched over, desperately hacking it into the monster before him. The latter raised a severely deformed "arm" to block it, only to have the entire limb and half its upper body sliced apart as easily as butter. Before long, we found that severed arm at the height of the monster's calves.
Every sign indicated that catastrophe had struck at the very instant those two creatures were locked in fierce combat. They had not even had time to make a struggling expression before being encased in a piece of Space Amber. Even the monster's severed arm had not had time to fall to the ground.
"The image is very clear. Saya, increase the scanning intensity. I need the details of the second return wave," Tawell ordered
