We had discovered more and more Imperial ruins in the Moblado Star System, and mounting evidence also showed that not long after the Old Empire collapsed, the Imperial Army originally stationed here had launched frenzied attacks on this world's ordinary civilization. The attacks came without warning, and the Ancient Civilization was destroyed with virtually no chance to resist. The only counterattack relic we had found was the base on Mist God Star, which had basically played no role when the massacre came.
Sandora had been in a poor mood these past two days. Though her face still bore that eternally unchanging calm, I could feel the sorrow in this Queen's heart through our Spiritual Connection. Nothing was more painful than watching one's most loyal soldiers suddenly become enemies. What was more, as their original guide and protector, she had turned around and destroyed the vassal civilizations that followed her. That position left her deeply troubled as well.
It was not merely moral condemnation or humanitarian guilt. Though such feelings existed for Sandora, they were not enough to make her this depressed—this might not sound good, but the lives she had personally destroyed truly numbered beyond description. Her tolerance for slaughter was astonishing. What troubled her now was more of a blow to her dignity: Shilin Apostles had always stood at the pinnacle of civilization through their immense power, and countless weaker civilizations had gathered beneath the Old Empire's iron rule because they relied on that strength. Now, the supposedly infallible pillar had not only collapsed, but crushed the followers beneath it. It was an immense irony, and for the proud Shilin Queen, it was almost a humiliation.
When she had first learned of the widespread existence of the Fallen Apostle, Sandora had already fallen into a slump for similar reasons.
