As the stars of today's special Celebration Ceremony, the newborns were placed in two golden cradles and carried onto the ceremonial platform by priests. But "cradles" was only relative to the height of Atlantis people. At the very least, in my eyes, those two glittering little beds were about the size of Pandora's single bed.
The two newborns had just been placed on the rectangular baptismal platform when, before the high priest could even approach, liliNa was the first to dart out. This suddenly overexcited girl hurried to the babies' cradle, craned her neck to look inside, then suddenly cried out and ran back with a miserable expression.
"What happened?"
I looked at liliNa in surprise. She had been eagerly talking about holding the babies just moments ago, so why did she look like she had seen something terrible after one glance?
LiliNa raised her head at a forty-five-degree angle, tears glistening in the corners of her eyes, and muttered pitifully, "Damn it, they're bigger than me right from birth. How am I supposed to hold them?"
Everyone fell silent, utterly speechless.
Only Sandora remained calm enough to analyze the situation. "Because they grow very quickly. The Database records that Atlantis newborns learn to walk independently within days and undergo the trials of the natural environment. After birth, they practically grow by the minute..."
While Sandora gave us this little lesson, I noticed that two other little girls beside me also had strange expressions.
Pandora and Viska unconsciously clenched their tiny fists, staring blankly at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle as if life had lost all meaning. Apparently, accepting that a newborn baby could be taller than them was indeed difficult for these two. LiliNa really was an excellent mine-sweeper. I should be grateful that Pandora and Viska, those
