Background / History

The Heaven Dou Empire was formed when the Heaven Dou Empire split into the Heavenly Soul and Dou Ling Empires. The division left both successor states weaker than the former unified empire. 57 144

Its border with the Sun Moon Empire lacked a natural defensive barrier comparable to the Ming Dou Mountain Range. This strategic weakness left the empire vulnerable to a direct Sun Moon offensive. 144

The empire’s northern border included settlements near the Far North Land, such as Frost Town. Although the region remained nominally Heavenly Soul territory, it operated with considerable semi-independence and relied heavily on merchant traffic for supplies. 117

Territory and Defenses

Heaven Armor City

Heaven Armor City stood near the western border and served as a major defensive position against the Sun Moon Empire. Its massive walls resembled a shield laid on its side, giving the city an unusually oppressive and defensive presence. 111

• It was home to the Heaven Armor Sect, a sect of shield Martial Soul users founded to defend the empire’s border. 110

Northern Border

The northern border approached the Far North Land and contained towns with a strong demand for imported necessities. High prices made the route profitable for merchants, but the region’s loose control also enabled banditry and informal toll systems. 117

Political and Military Affairs

The Sun Moon Empire used an Eighth-Level Fixed Soul Guidance Cannonball as a warning toward the Heaven Dou Empire, signaling a sharp change in its foreign policy. 70

At first, the Sun Moon–Heavenly Soul border was calmer than the Sun Moon–Star Luo front. However, the Heaven Dou Empire’s weakness after the Heaven Dou split made it increasingly exposed to Sun Moon pressure. 110 144

The Sun Moon Empire later occupied territory west of Heaven Armor City and seized several small towns north of it. Its forces did not immediately capture Heaven Armor City, as taking the city would likely collapse the empire’s remaining defenses and prematurely trigger a full-scale war. 142 148

Instead, the Sun Moon army stationed outside the city as a deterrent. This deployment also pressured the Heaven Dou Empire politically, raised Sun Moon domestic morale, and risked drawing the Douluo Three Kingdoms and Shrek into a wider conflict. 148

The Heaven Dou Empire ultimately could not withstand the Sun Moon Empire’s war of unification. After its fall, the Sun Moon Empire began assimilating local factions, spreading civilian Soul Tool technology, conscripting troops, and reorganizing former academies under Illustrious Virtue Hall. 219 224
