Background / History
Founding and legacy
Tianli Sect was founded by Tianli Zi, who passed five great cultivation arts to five disciples. He then moved five mountain ranges and established the Five Absolute Heavenly Sword Array, forming the sect’s enduring foundation. 1228
Over hundreds of thousands of years, the sect accumulated a vast library of cultivation arts and secret techniques, including inheritances acquired after destroying rival first-rate sects. Its Myriad Splendor Treasure Tower alone preserves hundreds of supernatural ability-grade techniques. 1236 1237
War with the Mechanical Empire
Tianli Sect and the major sects of the Tianli Sword Domain once destroyed and sealed the Mechanical Empire after it hunted martial artists for trade and life-essence extraction, exploited inhabited planets, and used destructive technology without restraint. 657 1225
The war inflicted severe losses that the sect had not fully recovered from even ten thousand years later. This decline allowed powers such as Jihuang Sword Palace, Sword Soul Sect, Seven Star Sword Pavilion, Nine Mandarin Duck Mountain, and Snow Soul Grotto-Heaven to approach its standing. 1025 1249
Ancient Realm campaign
The sect administered trials through the Divine Hall and Red Rock Continent, drawing martial artists from smaller worlds while screening entrants through demanding standards. Entry into Tianli Sect required at least Great Grandmaster strength and a rigorous trial; the Ascension Ranking recorded trial participants with more than 100,000 kill points. 465 716
During the renewed war with the Mechanical Empire, Tianli Sect deployed formations, Flying Sword cultivators, and large forces of high-realm martial artists. It also accepted the submission of nine alliances that sought protection after breaking with the Mechanical Empire. 786 987
Withdrawal from Central Continent
When the Yin Ruins and beast tide became too dangerous, Tianli Sect relocated the Divine Hall and its Safe Zones to Red Rock Continent. The move abandoned the sect’s monopoly over the Ancient Realm’s principal teleportation hub and prompted widespread panic among independent martial artists. 1212 1213
The sect subsequently withdrew from Central Continent, established Red Rock Continent as its primary base, and began selling or transferring former Safe Zones rather than attempting to hold every territory. 1219 1225
Fang Mo’s leadership and expansion
Mu Cangming appointed Fang Mo as First Vice Sect Leader and entrusted him with the Tianli Sect Leader Token, granting access to sect records, resources, forbidden grounds, and the Secret Realm. 1215
After Fang Mo and the Heavenly Venerates perfected the Myriad Transformations Origin Return Art, Mu Cangming formally declared Fang Mo the Tianli Sect Master. The art’s ability to transform evil energy and cultivate battle beasts rapidly strengthened the sect’s position. 1307 1317
Tianli Sect later annexed Nine Mandarin Duck Mountain as a subordinate sect, integrated it into its battle-command system, and announced an alliance intended to unite major powers of the Tianli Sword Domain. 1354 1370
